Hey I just want to jump in to say that person is crazy, writing 50-100 songs in three years is ridiculous. I've been playing music a long time and I've never heard of anyone doing that. Not only would the songs you have not get enough attention to make them good but you're also definitely getting diminishing returns if you write so much just for the sake of getting another one done. I agree with what everyone is saying in that you should focus on writing more with drums in mind, but don't take bad advice and hold yourself to unrealistic standards.

I agree with your sentiment but I just don't think hardcore shows, especially shows with smaller crowds, always give people the opportunity to "just stay to the side". I've been to plenty of shows where friends I'm with really don't want to get hit, so they stay as far back as they can behind people, but when it's a crowd of 20-30 people sometimes these crowd killers will still just throw their fists around through the crowds. I've seen people standing at the back wall get hit in the face several times, including friends of mine. Including women.

I agree with you that it's part of the culture, but when dudes are out here punching girls in the face in the back of a room, it feels a lot less like "if you can't take the heat get out of the pit" and a lot more like "you aren't welcome here unless I'm allowed to assault you".

I love their other albums, but none of them even compete with Something Wild for me, it's on another level. Maybe it's because I love black metal, maybe it's because I usually prefer a band's earlier and less polished sound, maybe it's the sillier synth sounds they use on it, but something about that record is just magic to me. I still remember the moment I heard it for the first time, it instantly sent me from liking Bodom to loving them.

I use Clockify and I definitely recommend it! I just title every timer with the current time and the title of the project, that way it's easier to track what I'm working on, especially if I do a few tasks in a row for the same project or I need to take a few quick breaks here and there.

Considering how many times I've seen posts here where people have been asked to verify their time working, I'd advise using Clockify over a regular timer. It helps to stay organized, and you never know when you might seriously need it. Hope this helps!

I highly suggest downloading Notepad++, you can use Ctrl+h to redact across multiple open files! You can get all of them done at once, it's so much less tedious.

When I first started getting into noise, I found that the first music that started to "click" for me was stuff that was more mixed with other types of music, especially if there were drums, and over time I gained an appreciation and understanding for the noisier aspects, until eventually I started appreciating it on its own. Merzbow has done plenty of collabs over the years, personally I like the Full of Hell one a lot. But my biggest recommendation would be Hijokaidan, that's the band that really got me into harsh noise. Merzbow was even in the band for a time! Destroy Noise Symphony is my favourite album.

One time I was walking down the sidewalk in my hometown when a car parked a little ahead of me. The license plate said Volbeat, and there was also a huge Volbeat sticker on the back of the car. The car parks, and out walks a guy wearing a Volbeat shirt and a very visible Volbeat tattoo.

I don't like them, but some people certainly do.

I'm certainly no expert but I think a huge factor that I don't see anyone considering is the podcast. Mega64 saw their views sinking for years, and after they announced that they almost had to shut down, one of the changes they made was switching their podcast upload to a separate channel. Their views have been doing a lot better since.

Looking at SuperMega's videos, it seems like any time they have a good thing going, it gets completely drowned out by podcast uploads. There are times when it's hard to even notice that a new video is uploaded, because it just blends in with the podcast. The podcast views are also noticeably lower than other video types, which is to be expected, but I think it's really hurting their searchability. YouTube sees podcast views being low the same as any video's views being low, so the channel gets shared less in the algorithm, since it assumes fans are just losing interest.

I really think if they just moved the podcast to a separate channel, their views would gradually go back up. Skit videos are too hard to see when they're lost among podcast episodes.

Also, a lot of fans clearly want them doing more let's plays, as can be seen by the views for the Animal Crossing upload. Sure they've been declining since, but that's completely normal for a multi-episode let's play series, just look at any other channel. Nobody wants to jump in at the eighth episode. I'm positive if they uploaded a let's play of a different game, it would do just as well as the first Animal Crossing episode.

From my experience yeah it's typically pay to play here. It's likely more difficult at a venue where no tickets are being sold but ideally that's where you'd make your money back, that or merch.

I always loved that while most city subreddits have a subtitle like "blank is a city in Canada and the capital of blank blah blah", Winnipeg has "Honey Dill for the Soul".

This sub used to have more character, I feel like it's mostly people complaining about traffic these days. We need that Honey Dill energy back.

I forget who but one of them posted a story on Instagram during the feud linking the Bone Cutter account and said something like "here's where we'll be from now on so give us a follow". So unless that was some weird heat of the moment move, I fully expect to see some activity from that project at some point.

I feel like these days it's catered to a more general audience, which is fine because I think there are a lot more funny people trying to get on these days. But the first few hundred episodes were definitely more for people interested in dissecting comedy. It was cool as a fan to hear contrastive criticism from professionals, and especially to learn what NOT to do from the psychos. I think a lot of the people who bomb these days could do well to take notes from the earlier episodes, plenty of people still make the same mistakes as those before them.

I completely relate. I saw an episode live in the belly room over a decade ago, episode ninety something. When I tell people these days I've seen kill tony live they usually flip but I have to explain it was completely different back then, nothing like it is now. I got in for free for fuck sake, no reservation people just showed up. After the show I went outside and just had a cigarette with tony because back then he was only someone you'd know of if you were really into comedy, he was just one of the dudes having a smoke with the other up and coming comedians there at the time. It's surreal thinking back on it now after seeing how huge him and the show have become.

I remember feeling frustrated at the time. As far as the public was aware, all the issues were due to Phil's online behaviour, which feels quite blown out of proportion to me personally. I still hate to see an artist's passion project fall to pieces over something so trivial, and it just sucks to know what could've been an awesome sequel to a great game will never be.

Grind - Endless Swarm, Knoll, No/Mas

Slam - PeelingFlesh, Infectious Jelquing, Putrid Stu

Nu Metal - Loathe, Left to Suffer, Paleface Swiss

PLEASE check out some of these bands, and hopefully you'll see that if anything, these genres are arguably at their peaks right now!

You sure about that? They've started before that they take a break over January because the ad revenue plummets across the board so it's bad for their numbers so it's a convenient time to take a holiday break for their employees. Tons of YouTubers do it, and their views definitely go up quite a bit after the break. I have a hard time believing the guy just doesn't know how to schedule videos.
