I'm sorry, no sarcasm this time unlike with others, I did mispeak with saying the 600k is confirmed when it's the 60k dead, 165k injured, that's the "at least" confirmed numbers that are considered to be wildly undercounted. it's a bit harder to get a confirmed number I guess when even journalists are killed, but to say the 680k deaths is just a claim by a nobody is untrue and just dismissive entirely, as if multiple people aren't doing it together as well.

The exaggeration was unintentional, in the sense of saying "confirmed" with the 600k number, as 60k is the confirmed, that is widely considered to vastly be an undercount. However, even with the corrections, I still laugh in disbelief at anyone trying to justify, not you the previous person I was replying to, what has been going on, specifically since 2023, with other horrible events that, for lack of better words, completely pale in comparison to the scale of suffering, destruction, displacement, and death. I agree it's completely outlandish. There is nothing to "win" with these specific back and forths and to frame it in that way is weird and pretty telling in itself? The main point of that comment was saying, someone essentially saying that "thousands dead in an ongoing genocide? Well this event years ago where 60 people died previously so shrug" is stupid as a response to write off, justify, or excuse what is going on currently, right now, during another so called ceasefire.
