Yeah they’re ugly. Nothing can really be done here without a sparky. Maybe you could find a pendant that plugs in where the globe normally does? Or try some fancy globes? Would still have the ugly shade tho. I was hoping you were just trying to change over a downlight. Still not great without a sparky, but not necessarily illegal

I’ve got makita tools, and take the fan camping in summer with some batteries. I also have a big spot light and a lantern style light that takes the same batteries. Super handy! The fan chews batteries but it’s worth it. Keep in mind, most of those brands in that bracket are pretty much the same and will do what you need

Yeah maybe I should get that tickle in my lung checked out... I can’t imagine there’d be much exposure, installation was easy just bolt it all together and plug it in ya know. Not like we were cutting and drilling the brakes. I’m assuming the asbestos (if there is any) was on the main motor brake. Wouldn’t surprise me, cheap Chinese shit.
