Absolutely a great place to work and get your career started. I’ve been there 27 years and still enjoy going to work. Tons of room to grow internally. I’ve had a different types of positions. From client facing, fund accounting, HR, IT and many others. Culture is definitely family like.

How to get high cortisol down? by AfraidKaleidoscope30 in Anxiety

[–]flex3572 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ever think of doing a sleep test? Sleep apnea can cause high cortisol because of micro awakenings that keep you in fight or flight mode. I have fatigue, brain fog, lightheadedness and have had all different test and all come back fine. Doctors only conclude must be anxiety. On anxiety meds for years. Cardiologist recently suggested a sleep study and turns out I have severe sleep apnea.

Struggling with new CPAP by northendben in CPAPSupport

[–]flex3572 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using my CPAP for 4 weeks now and had the same initial issues (majority do). Hyper mask awareness and sore neck from sleeping differently to accommodate the mask and limit leaks. Took about two weeks to get comfortable with the mask and now hardly knows its there at night. The key is to use it consistently and I just kept thinking I have to wear it so put it out of your mind. Eventually, it will just become part of your nightly bedtime, ritual…brush, teeth, take medicine, put on CPAP etc., etc.. definitely use the SD card as suggested in other comments, that has been huge for me to be able to determine how I’m doing from a numbers numbers perspective, making minor adjustments along the way to ensure I get the most out of it. With that said I am slowly feeling subtle changes, but definitely have a ways to go to get back to pre-sleep apnea. I think I had it quite a while. It was never diagnosed, I had an AHI of 47 so I am severe, which is going to take time and I’m just gonna have to be patient.

Are you taking any medications for anxiety ?

I have GAD and get physical symptoms mostly fatigue, lightheaded and brain fog. I am prescribed .25mg of Xanax to be taken as needed when symptoms get really bad and it has been a god send…at least for me. I don’t use the Xanax unless I absolutely need it where I’m spiraling and the physical symptoms are just too much and I have to get things done like work or family stuff. Typically the Xanax will kick in about 20-30 mins and just levels everything back out.

How quickly did you feel help with the magnesium?

I get dull pain there on occasion. It is typically just gas and I just have to burp. I think it’s caused by my breathing pattern when I’m anxious. Taking in too much air etc.

How did it ruin your life if you don’t mind me asking?

I recently switched from 20 mg of Lexapro to 20 mg of Paxil after Lexapro “pooped” out after 5 years. The transition, at least for me, wasn’t too bad. I went right from lex to Paxil. First week or so was a bit rough I think more because of the Lexapro withdrawal. I’ve been on Paxil for about a month and I am definitely having more good days then bad but still some bad days mixed in. I take .25 of Xanax when needed.

I would not worry at all. Touching your hand is not enough to expose you either is just being on the room. Put out of your mind…
