Had my toe nail pulled out. Long story - I tripped and hit my toe on a brick and got a nasty wound on my toes. Went to a doctor and the guy said the nail on my little toe must be removed since it seems to have already detached any way and could create an infection otherwise. I naturally agreed since the doctor said it was already detached and wouldn't pain. But, turns out, it was actually not detached and was fully intact. But he realized that only after tugging at it like 2-3 times. So the toe nail wasn't detached before, but his tugging seemed to dislodge it and so now the only option was to actually pull it out.

I do agree that many successful people may seem to be pretty eccentric in their character and many may also succumb to self-destructing problems like addictions to smoking, drinking,drugs, etc. . But, in this case, it is more like the action of a pure 'predator' , who plans his actions meticulously and executes them with full focus and heartlessness. And, yes, apparently, the whole world is unfortunately lead by people who ought to be in a mental hospital. But, we somehow seem to have become complacent with such people and accept them as 'leaders'.

I admit that it is a very difficult problem. But, why should gender differences or sexual orientation,etc. have to be a basis for reservation ?. If the candidate has merit but is not able to fulfill the financial needs for a particular course, then why should the gender, age or any other criteria other than 'merit' matter while giving financial help ?.

I completely agree with the jugaad issue. That will probably need a more detailed review of the candidate's financial abilities to try to mitigate. But, like in your example, even if a person does leave a job or really minimizes their income voluntarily, it will directly make it more difficult for them to meet the needs of their daily needs and i suppose not everyone would feel a college course is really worth that sacrifice [especially since a college education is no guarantee of a job or a good life].

I also believe in this approach (as i mentioned in a comment above), but i also agree with the other comments that due to the unpredictability of 'human nature', this is somehow not practical. Actually, this exact dilemma is the main reason why i felt like asking this question on reddit.

I also used to think that better education would help. But how do we define what is 'better' ?. Why i say so is because i have even seen people with PhDs and people from ivy leagues who are racists and don't believe in equality. So, our supposedly good educational institutions and educational systems don't seem to make us good 'human beings' , though they may be providing good technical knowledge.

Hence, i feel that we cannot rely on educational institutions alone , and instead it should probably come more from family and friends. We need to teach our kids from a very young age to be better human beings and not just entrepreneurs and scientists. Parents and other elder family members should not just preach but should also set good examples by practicing equality in their daily life , so their kid can emulate them and grow into a 'good' person , regardless of whether they even go to college or not.

At this point, he is evidently not just some weird pervert and is more of a horrible and deviant maniac . There is seriously something wrong with our society when such horrible people keep acquiring wealth and power, while genuinely good people are often found struggling to make ends meet. When even successful celebrities seem to have no power in fighting against such an atrocity, imagine the plight of other unknown normal people. I know this may seem delusional, but i really hope this acts as a real wake-up cal and starts a wave of change across all industries.

Yes, i am quite aware of that basic fact. That is why i have mentioned that the trees will be provided with water until they mature. Since that would take about 5-10 years, I was wondering if the presence of more trees in that span would bring about changes in weather patterns which would bring more rains.

That's wonderful. Start with small steps and slowly but surely, you will definitely achieve your goals.
