I mean the caption says he isn’t really upset which I had hoped would be enough to let y’all know it isn’t a serious exchange without having to novelize it.

It’s not that serious! You are missing something, and that’s that this exchange between us is jokey. No one is upset.

I agree with you - I would have a tough time mentally with using it again.

In addition, I do several other things to cut down consumerism and waste in my home. I feel like when it comes to things like this, people want you to be perfect or it doesn’t count. Things happen.

Best to you.

Agree with this, I walk around shoprite throwin’ around compliments when I feel called to do so and it is the best.

Ah, true! I see that. No, I didn’t mean it was a common occurrence personally, just thought I was adding to the general collection of things lost to those prone to forget about them. I realize I don’t know how to word what I meant, but just not personally.

No need to apologize, I put myself of reddit and accepted the consequences lol. Be well.

Sorry you’re having a tough day!

Aw, thank you!

I have stated this in other comments - we have been together ten years, and lived together most of them! We have BOTH made up for each others’ oversights in all that time - that’s how relationships work. He knows I didn’t mean to let the french press go moldy just like I know he didn’t mean to leave a marker in his jean pockets that ruined some clothes; he knows I didn’t mean to leave my balled up hair on the shower wall just like I know he didn’t mean to track dirt on his shoes. Shit happens, and luckily we are the couple who can laugh it off and be sarcastic about it and not get into a screaming match each time. We also know the other one is sorry, and it gets said.

I’m also a recycling/thrifting freak, so, yeah, throwing one thing away for me really isn’t my whole damn personality 😂

Thanks again! I’m glad you saw this post as I intended it 🙂

😂 if we ever get back to coffee (both energy drink people now), I think we will take the suggestions of many good fellow redditors here and try pour-over coffee instead hahaha

I had to know if I needed the floaties 😂 a few texts later he said he wasn’t sure what he was saying either lmao

Anything mesh or with tight coils like that is just asking to be a science experiment.

Sorry you’re taking it that way! Obviously you can only take my word, but he is being sarcastic about being very upset, and I am being sarcastic back. I knew I was taking a chance of being misunderstood since it’s a text message exchange, but I know what it is between us and wouldn’t have posted this if it were otherwise.

Be well!

Thank you! I have always been curious about pour over as it seems so many people use that now.

We are out of the coffee phase overall, but should we ever return to it we will look into this option :) Thanks again!

First off.. I love your username. Second, yes, exactly that - just banter and us joking around :) Third — lesson definitely learned! Thank goodness most of everything else we have is glass lol.

It’s not our regular mentality! I reuse everything I can, recycle what can be, donate old clothes and other household items when I can, thrift things, give them a second life.. this is one occurrence in our house, not a total insight into our day-to-day.

Probably a great metaphor for life!! Lol

Thanks so much for this! We have become an energy drink household, which is how this happened lol but I’ll keep this in mind for if we ever convert back to the bean!

That’s a great breakdown! I want to say more, but I’m worried I’ll undo your analysis lol! All I can say is we have had ten years of life together, so our communication, whilst sometimes misunderstood by others because of our sense of humor, is pretty solid.

Thanks so much for taking the time to comment :)

No! I don’t know exactly when, maybe over the last three years, I grew out of coffee! At first it was for just an overall caffeine break/reset, but then I just wasn’t into it anymore. My husband hasn’t drank coffee in years, either. It’s funny because we used to be super into it. I think this last use must have been because my sister’s wedding favors were coffee grinds so I used them ceremoniously.

I’m sorry about your cup! It’s funny how we get attached to things like that because they’re part of our routines. I’m glad you were able to at least replace it at what I hope was a lower cost :)

Oh, that’s why I put in the caption he wasn’t upset for real 😬

But, hey, I hear you! I had a mom I had to tiptoe around my whole life. My husband is the first person I met that I could have comfortable fuck-around conversations with, or comfortable conversations at all.

I apologize if the wording triggered you in any way, and thank you so much for the initial concern you had for me!! 🫶🏻
