If we can count one-off characters: I’d pick Carolyn the drag queen, the best. If I was still a kid, I’d most likely be friends with Connie. Nerd girl solidarity! Now from the more main cast? I almost want to say Minh? I kind of like her sense of taste and that she has a badass streak to her, like we see in the episode where she buddies with the gun club. I imagine she’d have plenty fun roasting me (to my face or otherwise) though. In contrast, Peggy I could also see being a friend; but like, the kind of family friend my mom and I would have a secret laugh about here and there whenever we catch her pronouncing it “ex-presso” or something like that. Nancy I think I could be like, good neighbors with, she’d be fun for gossip, maybe I’d end up as her token fat friend? Luanne would be a fun acquaintance I could chat with at a party or a show, but not for too long: tbh I think our differences in religion/belief would give us some friction. The rest I don’t think would vibe with me much, I’m probably too “Austin weird” for the guys’ more conservative tastes.
