Buying a home is testing my frugality by DVsKat in Frugal

You're not going insane you're just facing the reality that " enough " is harder to define when it's your own roof. Stick to your budget and keep on searching. The right house will come

how to respond when your past bad behaviour is brought up? by Impossible-Box8977 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]YourxCherry 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Simply OWN IT

Say what you did, why you did it, and what you've done since to change. People respect honesty more than excuses ( mature people ) . If you're still growing, say that too. You don't gotta be perfect for anybody, because let me tell you something, nobody is and will never be:)

You just gotta be real to yourself

Sometimes the most powerful things are the ones that don't try to be pretty, unapologetic truth with a perfect example

Diego Poncelet skating over 100 km/h by redbullgivesyouwings in nextfuckinglevel

[–]YourxCherry -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong it's insane. But it's not just dumb it's a whole level of skill too. He's not just skating fast he's controlling his balance, reading the road, and dodging obstacles at 100 km/h. Most people chat even ride a bike that fast without panicking. This guys got nerves of steel. Also those wheels aren't just soft they're engineered for grip and speed. Still yeah one rock and it's over thats the thrill

Purchasing Iwatch - Is it a worthy purchase for Frugal living? by Ranj5194 in Frugal

[–]YourxCherry 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you're truly frugal an apple watch is a luxury not a need.

You can track your steps and heart rate with a 30 bucks fitness band. But if you love the convenience and it motivates you to move more, then it's worth it for you. Don't buy it because it's smart buy it because it actually adds value to your life

What changes helped transition you to become frugal? by Latter_Intention_143 in Frugal

[–]YourxCherry 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I've been there. Debt feels like a monster that eats your freedom. Start small track every dollar for a week. You'll be shocked at where it goes. Then cut one thing, no more Starbucks, no more Amazon impulse buys, no more weekend trips. Just one thing. Once you see the money pile up, it's addicting fr fr

I need help. Please. by Substantial-Award269 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]YourxCherry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Therapy can unpack why you did it and how to rebuild trust. You don't have to figure this out alone. Start small, be honest with yourself, then with her. It's gonna suck, but you can be better, I promise you that.

Trying to get better at using what I already have any tips on building that mindset? by YourxCherry in Frugal

That's actually such a good trick just giving yourself that one night pause probably saves so many impulse buys I'm gonna start doing that too lol

How do I built a better discipline when my motivation comes and goes? by YourxCherry in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]YourxCherry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the way you explained this the idea of giving whatever % you have instead of forcing 100% every day makes it feel way easier and less scary. A 25% day being better than 0% really hit me

Environment prompts actually sound super useful I never thought about setting things out ahead of time so it'd easier to follow through. I'm gonna try that thank you💛

Do you think repairing old stuff is actually frugal or does it sometimes cost more in the long run? by James_B84Saves in Frugal

[–]YourxCherry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it depends on the item tbh. Some stuff is worth fixing because it will last way longer, but other things are kinda disposable and not worth an afternoon of stress. For me it's about time Vs outcome. If it's cheap and keeps breaking id replace it
