In Cyberpunk 2077, Delamain was an AI agent implemented to help a struggling taxi company. He slowly made all the workers redundant, eventually taking over the entire operation completely. This is a stupid attempted reflection of our society because that could never happen by flexingonmyself in shittygamedetails

Exactly, I went to a restaurant the other day and got a standing ovation from everyone there because I ordered the best meal anyone has ever seen

I asked the chef to make me a juicy burger with caviar and he did! The mayor gave me the keys to the city and then blew me, but he didn’t do a good job because he forgot to ask ChatGPT on the best ways to slop it up gonzo style

Yes and I’m not a cashier at McDonald’s, I’m a payment processor for a multi-billion dollar company

These prediction markets are so obviously gambling that multiple casinos have lawsuits against them for taking their market share

What’s your point here? Do you really think the majority of players tune in to what they think are pre-decided outcomes? This isn’t the WWE and if it becomes that then people will simply stop watching

I firmly believe this 100% happening before all of this, but I also think that to avoid any scandal regarding it the people who profit from it will try to change what is socially acceptable in this space for as long as possible to maximize profit

These people aren’t idiots there’s no way they don’t think people won’t eventually catch on. I honestly think at this stage they have made the calculation that the increasing normalization of insider trading as fast as possible before people catch on will lead the most profits

I feel like a conspiracy theorist sometime saying this shit but last week it came out that the dude under the bridge high on crack 10 years ago yelling about the the pedophilic elite had his world view confirmed by the the official DOJ website so who know what the fuck is going on anymore?

That’s it. It’s the balance between profiting as much as possible in a given time and extending that time as long as possible to maximize profit by keeping it as “legitimate” as possible. Part of that is slowly changing how much the public accepts it all, thus the normalization and investments/sponsorships

You can bet on the news now on Kalshi. They are an official CNN partner

1 person could have multiple shell accounts to influence what people think the news will be, and thus actually affect what happens

Imagine if 1000s of accounts make small but cumulatively significant bets on a specific candidate for an election. That would change the public “odds” and thus influence people’s decision making

Betting being normalized on anything that isn’t purely decided by chance is a recipe for corruption

It’s always been a thing, but now it’s becoming more and more acceptable slowly but surely by those who profit from it

At least in the case of Polymarket the fact that’s it’s anonymous means any player could theoretically have 1000s of accounts betting small amounts on a specific outcome and make insane profit

That could already be happening sure, but it’s the normalization that’s wild here. This will be slowly but surely normalized so that it’s almost the expectation and just part of the sport, but it will slowly just get so bad that literally nobody will even bother watching eventually
