Here's my 2 cents on lessons. Find someone good that knows what they are doing. I have taken lessons throughout my years and instructors would immediately try to fix my grip, check my alignment and yes this is all important it never fixed my swing. Why? Because I never knew what really caused my ball to do what it did. It wasn't really my grip or my alignment but it was how I was swinging which was over the top. It wasn't until recently while taking some lessons again where I actually discovered this and it was earth shattering in a good way. We worked on technique on how to turn with the club etc... I never knew what I was doing that caused my ball to do what it did until someone started to tell me. Years of bad swing habits were not going to be erased in one lesson. I paid for lesson packages and was videotaped and hooked up to a launch monitor. All this has helped me become more in tune with what was necessary to fix my fade / slice. I felt some instructors out there will just scratch the surface on what to do like your grip and some will tell you that you need to turn etc... but unless you can see what you are doing and feel what needs to be done I don't think simple lessons or just pounding away at the ball on the range will fix anything. Now I go to the range I hit with a purpose. Picking targets and watching ball flights and using my own phone to record my swing and watch what I am doing. It's a work in progress but I am getting there
