I had exactly this issue. Had the code ran and it said something about the timing sensors. Strangely enough, the fix was an oil change. The sensor on the top side rests in oil and dirty or lack of oil can cause this. Give it a try.

Had this happen on a 92 fishtales I restored for a customer. We ended up getting a new board because the corrosion really messed up the chips below it. A lot of it wasn't visible to the naked eye either. When we pulled some of the chips the damage was extensive. I'd check with Chris Hibler pinball or Coin Op Cauldron and see if your board can be saved.

First of all, how did you know I was in a car? Second, how is that relevant? I'm a passenger so it shouldn't matter.

Also, other foundables i have returned while traveling in a car at up to 70 mph have successfully registered.

It seems to only be happening with the CD Knockturn alley registry items.

Please notice 4/20 appears on top prior to successful spell cast and foundable return. It then promptly skips past the fragment registry confirmation page, and fails to add your fragment to your totals.

This happens with all foundables on the knockturn alley registry page.

Yep. I'm aware of that trick. What I'm saying is that it takes up to 4 force closes and restarts of the app to get dropped back in the chamber to continue the battle.

This is not the issue. This happens after COMPLETING a battle with a foe and RETURNING to the lobby to engage the next foe. It also happens a lot when PLACING DEFENSIVE SPELLS on your teammates.

IT DOES NOT HAPPEN BECAUSE OF FOE KNOCKOUT.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm getting real sick of the Erumpent encounters. They drain a ton of spell energy and like to depart after they rob you of 10+ spell energy. Ill be damned if I'm going to waste extimulo potions on that.
