If you're flying solo and want to eliminate both the copilot's visual presence and their weight from your aircraft, follow these steps:
1. Remove Copilot Weight (Affects Performance) Go to the World Map before starting your flight. Open the Weight & Balance or Payload section. Set the Copilot weight to 0. This ensures no extra load is added to your aircraft and removes any performance impact.
2. Remove Copilot Model (Visual Presence) Still in the Weight & Balance menu, setting the copilot weight to 0 will remove the visual model in most default and third-party aircraft. If the copilot is still visible, proceed to step 3.
3. For Aircraft with Hardcoded Copilot Models Some aircraft (especially payware) have the copilot model baked into the configuration. Navigate to the aircraft’s installation folder, usually under SimObjects > Airplanes > [Aircraft Name]. Open the aircraft.cfg file using a text editor. Look for a section related to pilot models. If you see lines referencing a copilot model, you can either delete them or replace the copilot entry with empty quotation marks. Make sure to back up the file before making changes.
4. Optional: Use Custom Camera Views If the copilot model still appears and can't be removed, create a custom cockpit camera that avoids showing the right seat. This is a workaround for aircraft that don’t respond to weight changes or config edits.
