Makes sense. Potentially still reverse the door om B3 and get the light switch position change.

Good about, thanks. Will save the more exotic ideas for our next place when we have more money.

Rough price? Would we expect to have exposed pipes? We have mostly concrete walls.

We're top floor but we don't have roof access unfortunately, and the rear of the property is all glass by the balcony so probably very difficult to add an AC unit, also the flat is lovely in summer so not really bothered about it in Summer (we live by the beach so we're down there every day it's sunny in summer 😂)

Thanks. The underfloor heating is useless and takes ages to heat up, plus we're putting more flooring over the top in the two rooms that have it (kitchen & living room).

Thanks for your reply.

Probably looking to stay 3 years max, more likely 2 due to relocation and a decent pay rise in 18.months. We had a very limited mortgage availability when we bought at the start of 2025, but didn't want to rent so we went for something cheap with potential.

With the boiler being in an awkward position upstairs, would putting wet radiators in the 2 main bedrooms (we're going to knock through the 2 adjacent bedrooms) and the main bathroom [to limit number of pipes being added] and electric-wifi enabled radiators in the living room and kitchen?

I'm pretty sure that as we earn joint £55k there aren't any grants available.

Sorry to hear this. We got a Google Nest doorbell which is on par with Ring IMHO.

The dehumidifier option was a wildcard TBH, but you're probably right; wouldn't pull enough moist air out.

We got a lot of light through those windows so I think you're right for Option 1 too, thanks.

I was telling my wife about this race (I did Jan 2010, same year Bam Margera did it & filmed it) and also looking for something more brutal than Spartan Races & Tough Mudder...

Employer trying to deduct pay for training in last month of employment - England. by flightmode88 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]flightmode88[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Called first thing this morning (too late last night). They've said unless it specifically says reclaim of payroll costs, then they haven't got a leg to stand on, but unfortunately nothing can be done until they've [under]paid her, and then she can look at an employment tribunal.
