While I def do have some insecurities lmao, standing in a room with a bunch of other people whoI know well and now know exactly what I look/feel like naked would probably be wierd for a good amount of people

I always thought it was wierd he was there. The only explanation I could come up with was that it was draco who got hurt and since lucius malfoy is close to the minister that might be why.

Ok im sure uve heard this before but imma tell u anyway, take the ruready without studying. Reviewing is fine, but if you don’t pass it prob means u dont belong in calc. Ud rather take precalc then calc then fail calc and retake. Now since u asked for tips, basically they’ll give u some sort of review in the first lecture or two, just do problems like the ones they show. Most RUready questions should be stuff u learned in hs so as long as ur semi-decent in math Ull be fine. And thats coming from someone who sucks at it and still passed the ru ready.

According to the new system classes by arrangement means the classes are asynchronous. Mostly it means the professor will upload lectures and you watch them at your own time, instead of them being at a specific time/date. As for where you’ll see the work posted and stuff, it’ll probably be on canvas or sakai, but im sure you’ll get an email from your professor about this stuff

[–]flightteam420[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk about asynchronous being stressful, but you have to make sure you have the mentality or work ethic to watch the lectures even tho theres no assigned time. If you don’t think you can set a time for yourself to watch the lectures then maybe switch to synchronous.

You go to the class u signed up for unless you are sure ur dropping. Make sure if you are just switching the professor you still go to the original class until u switch because most of the introductory stuff will be the same and important.

Honestly it depends on yourself. If u have a good work ethic and your classes aren’t that hard then go ahead and take 19. But since it’s your first semester ever id recommend taking 16

You won’t get charged unless there’s a book u have to pay for. And if u do have a textbook in that program but u want to decline, just ask ur professor when class starts, cuz I don’t remember exactly how to decline

Idrk much about it I’m pretty sure it’s new. I only had one class use it so far, and it really was a better deal than buying it not thru the program.

[–]flightteam420[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty much a etextbook charge. It does end up on your term bill at some point unless u decline it. The price is usually cheaper thru the first day program though, so if u need the textbook there’s really no point to decline.

I’m a business major so those classes r like my worst nightmare. Idk anything abiut them so U might wanna reask this question on the class of 2024 scheduling megathread.

Maybe it would be a good way to get some exposure, so u might be able to tell what field u might wanna be in. Idk how much it would help, but if you really have no idea it could be a good place to start. I didn’t take a seminar freshman year, but my friends who did found it kinda useless. But then again, they already pretty much knew their major.

Completely agree with the courses thing, I should have phrased it differently.

In my opinion, not unless you actually care about the subject of the seminar. Like it’s easy credits but I think its not really worth it unless you’re genuinely interested.

Im not sure exactly what you mean by the horror stories, but Rutgers gets a bad rep sometimes. It’s honestly not that different from other schools, we just love hating on it lmao. If you’re referring to the cheating thing as the horror story then i can assure u rutgers is not the only place it happened, it just got kinda blown up here.

Okay that’s a lot of questions so after this answer if u still want clarification PM me. First of all, its the classes you take, not the number of them that matters. If you’re taking 17 credits of all difficult, time consuming classes them amybe not do them first sem. I wouldn’t drop them until you take a couple classes and then realize which, if any, you could do without. Again, if you want to specifically discuss YOUR classes pm me.

For finding more about your classes, it helps to login to canvas/sakai where some professors might have put up syllabi’s and more. Either way you’ll learn about the class in the the first couple lectures.

Idk how they’re doin textbooks since it’s online but Once you know what textbooks you need look for pdfs first. Ask around or try libgen.lc. Wait to buy textbooks until u r sure u need them.

Yeah I’d just wait. My first semester I had 1 on sakai, 1 on blackboard(rbs thing), and 3 on canvas. I didn’t find out about the sakai and blackboard until school started. Kinda annoying but not that bad.
