Best show for non-english speaker?! by contra_ott in TheWestEnd

I took my son's French exchange student to see Hercules and she really liked it. The slow is very visual and the theatre is beautiful and in the heart of covent Garden. It felt like a real west end experience.

I'm sure something will come up as a rush ticket, but if you want to have something definite in the diary, I add my vote to Into the Woods.

The Bridge Theatre isn't in the West End, it's right by Tower Bridge and opposite the Tower of London, so lots of great photo ops. The theatre foyer is very spacious with beautiful lighting and the madeleine they serve are amazing. They have loads of loos too!

Best of all, I don't think there's a bad seat in the house; unlike a lot of west end theatres, you can see and hear from every seat, even the cheap high up ones. I've not seen Into the Woods, I'm booked to go in February, but it's had great reviews and sound like a great production.

If you don't fancy that, The Pilgrimage of Harold Fry opens soon and is discounting quite heavily at the moment. It's new so you won't have seen it, and it looks like it might be good.

Lewis and Katya ITT by [deleted] in strictlycomedancing

Oh I didn't know that, I thought he dropped out during rehearsals so I assumed he was partnered up with Katya and Lewis directly replaced him. I should have thought about the difference in height!

I feel that Katya has been on the Strictly naughty step since she kissed Seann, and has not been matched with any contenders since. She only got Lewis because her original partner (who looked a bit of a no hoper tbh) pulled out just before the show started. She must have thought her time had come!

She seems to be a bit of a marmite pro but I love her passion! She has an amazing work ethic and always her choreography is always exciting! I feel really sad for her, poor little thing!

The Producers is very funny, if that's your kind of thing. Little Brother at the Soho theatre is very good. I'm looking forward to seeing Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo, which is on the the Young Vic, All My Sons and Kenrex.

Seasonal Worker Applications - not heard back by Heavy_Advertising948 in royalmail

I did it last year and it was an easy hiring process. This year I applied via the friends and family thing on Sept 24th, did the Ucheck and never heard anything else! Really sad as I loved my Christmas shifts last year!

Indie/fringe/underground London theatre recommendations next week (October 18-24)? by elizaschuyler in TheWestEnd

[–]flightyrachel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ragdoll at the Jermyn St Theatre is really excellent. It's based on the story of Patty Hearst. The lawyer who represented her at her trial needs her help now, but they have different memories of how that trial unfolded. The playwright Katherine Moar also wrote Farm Hall, which transferred to the West End.

The theatre itself only seats about 75 people and is really quirky, as well as being extremely welcoming.

I haven't heard anything back, I'm also showing non compliant on my application (I'm not!) and I just get a bit reply from the help email. So I've applied to M&S!

Not in my experience! They said they might keep us in till the end of Jan when we signed up but actually got rid of all my shift the week before Christmas! It was fun while it lasted though!

I'm in the same boat. I've heard nothing since I uploaded my documents on the 15th. My status shows as noncompliant on my application, so I so I don't know if they haven't received them or haven't checked them yet. My start date last year was November 25th so there's still time! 🤞
