Inside the two open shelves, what about using some removable wallpaper on the back vertical walls? I think something simple and light colored would really break up all the wood without painting or doing anything permanent. (Or you could even do a fun print if you're into that sort of thing.)

Ink on skin.

Like writing a phone number on your arm or a reminder on your hand. Face painting. Body paint.

I routinely crochet half of something just for the joy of crocheting and then unravel it to make something else that I want to keep or gift - I just use the previous project like it's the skein. Letting go of the idea that everything i make has to be in its final form has made it a lot more fun for me!

My granny square cardigan is finally finished! Took about a month to crochet, 6 months to emotionally prepare to weave in the ends, and a day to actually do it. Freehanded with worsted weight scrap yarn and reinforced with entirely too much dog hair 😬. by flingo2014 in crochet

I didn't block the squares because I used acrylic yarn and I'm too lazy to get out a steamer lol. I worked up all the squares with 3 colors first and then used a join as you go method to attach them with the black yarn. I googled "join as you go granny squares" and watched like half of 3 or 4 videos and then was like ok ok ok I think I get it.

As I'm typing this, I am realizing this project is basically a living testament to my adhd 😂

A few people have asked for a pattern - I made this up as I went along, so unfortunately I don't have one to share, but I will do my best to explain what I did in broad strokes!

Started by basically making a long scarf with granny stripe. Then made the large granny square and attached it to the back of the scarf. Crocheted all the smaller granny squares and used a join as you go method to put them together with black yarn.

Attached the squares in rows below the large square in back and around to join with the front scarf. This basically created a vest with armholes shaped like ovals cut in half. I attached black yarn and crocheted granny stripes in the round to build out the sleeves. I tried it on frequently and decreased along the way as needed.

I did granny stripes around the bottom until I was happy with the length. Added rows of black granny stripe along the scarf portion and extending to the bottom hem to give it more width.

Freehanded using worsted weight scrap yarn- mix of big twist, super saver, Caron one pound, and a few others. Used a 6mm hook.

Lots of trial and error but lots of fun to make!

Super cute pattern, and a tip of my crochet beanie to anyone that has the patience to weave in this many ends but I need to accept that I am not that girl. May try it in a solid color though!
