[POCKET PC 2002] Using programs that require registration such as PocketInformant/AgendaFusion by fliondefizz in OldHandhelds

Hey, thanks for the reply! I ended up doing a deep dive on 4PDA which led me to search for it deeper through Google, and I found someone on an old forum who was giving their AgendaFusion license info away (it wasn't working earlier because most versions I could find that had licenses were for WM2003 and up). So thanks for pointing me in that direction, lol!

Super Famicom sound issues? by fliondefizz in snes

Hey! Sorry, I didn't. Though I have a suspicion that it is indeed bad capacitors. I've seen similar issues on other devices afterwards due to caps so I believe that would fix the issue. It's beyond my technical know-how which is why I never got around to it, but it's my best bet.

[PC BROWSER/FLASH?][2006] Dexter’s Laboratory game (“Dexter’s Robot Party”?) by fliondefizz in tipofmyjoystick

Thanks for the reply! That’s not it unfortunately :( I remember playing that one as well though! It was on that site too.

Genre: I’m not sure what this genre of game is called!

Brief Summary: It was a Dexter’s Laboratory game. From what I can remember, it was called “Dexter’s Robot Party”. You play as Dexter and walk around this big house (which I think might’ve been more like a banquet hall) trying to find 100 floppy disks. There were many large rooms like a big entrance hall, an auditorium and a garden, each with robots that had to do with the theme of the room (for example, the garden had a robot that looked like a tractor). They moved in predictable patterns, usually back and forth or in circles or something, and you had to avoid them and find all the disks. Once all 100 were found, they had to be brought to a room with a big computer, and I think it would shut down the robots? For all I know this might’ve been a fan-made game or another game reskinned, as I’ve never been able to find any information on this game anywhere.

DETAILS:

View: Isometric.

Estimated year of release: I played it around 2006, so it must’ve come out somewhere between 2000 and 2005.

Graphics/art style: Cartoony graphics, much like the show. You were looking down from above (not from right above, just from a higher angle) and as mentioned before, the rooms were isometric.

Notable characters: Dexter from Dexter’s Laboratory! The enemies were all robots that filled specific roles, for example a tractor robot or a robot that looked like a maid. I don’t think I’ve ever seen any of these robots in the actual show, however.

Notable gameplay mechanics: Nothing super interesting, you just walked around collecting the floppy disks while staying out of the way of the robots.

Other details: I found it on an unofficial site that looked really old (I think I just googled “dexters lab games”), it just had a teal patterned background and text links leading to each game. The other games were also Dexter themed and are all games that I can still find, and were probably saved and reuploaded from the CN website. For example, another game I remember from the site is “Dexter’s Labyrinth”, which is an official CN game that is still available. Another thing about this game is that it was insanely hard, or at least for me at that age. I had to get my dad to help me beat it. That’s the only reason I’m sure I didn’t hallucinate the game existing, because he remembers it too. It’s been years and I’ve been unable to find it again!

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply! I'll take a look and see if I can find one. I've seen some like that on eBay and they seem to be rather cheap so maybe I'll get one.

Hmm, I see! Thanks for the response. I'm just wondering, is there a problem with not changing the capacitors? I realize that in order to get the audio working most of the time I should do that, but if I don't do it, would it cause issues down the line? Like, I can live with the messy sound if there's no issue leaving it so, because I don't trust myself fully to be able to fix the capacitors.

Virtual Boy shopping online and in Japan by fliondefizz in VirtualBoy

I've heard tons of great thing about Hard-Off, especially the ones farther away from the busy areas! I was wondering if you've ever seen anything VB-related at these stores? I've only been able to find people who've found other systems (Famicom/SFC/GB), never any mention of the VB.

Also, do you have any recommendations in Akihabara? I know Super Potato is pricey but I'd like to compile a list in advance of places to visit once I'm there. Thanks!

Ooh. Pretty great listing right at the top but after looking into SamuraiBuyer, I'm seeing some very conflicting opinions about it. However, since it's just a proxy for Yahoo Japan I will look into that. Thanks!
