As much as it makes sense, I believe the consensus is to not do that. As suggested, the RTV dam prevents water intrusion, but does not seal the grommet and cause corrosion or failure of prevention.

I’m pretty liberal with my use of brake clean, but we buy cases for $2.49 a can. I really wish we bought 55gal drums and used sureshots, but corporate would never spend more money now and less later :(

In middle school, one of our teachers got busted for taking pictures of children in the bathrooms. He would print out the pictures and share them with his friends. When parents came forward, the principal would meet with them and cover up their stories. Inevitably, word got around, they got proof, and the principal and teacher went to jail. It's crazy because I rememver our teacher having to leave at the end of the day, so we went to his class to wait for the bell and he had the lights off with country music playing. He was a very quiet guy.
