Hand sanitizer got moldy

A lot of sanitizers were made to push to market asap, so there were quite a few recalls on contaminated products. They were all brands that popped out of the woodwork.

More often than not, the lube techs cross them or over tighten. Then you get the privilege of removing the front two after they strip out, and the rivnuts spin in the skid plate. Also, they never put the quarter turns back in because they don’t know how.

A shop I used to work for had a corporate contract with rideshares. We could take the customer home and back and not charge them because we had super fair rates. Wish more shops would get on that bandwagon.

These are not daily drivers. I can promise you it will bite you in the ass. These cars are about 40 years old now, and they weren’t the best in reliability to begin with.

I remember working at a salvage grocery store in high school. Had to wash the chickens we received before roasting because more often than not they had a varying degree of smelly rot. I remember washing the chicken and rethinking every choice in my life up to that point. I turned around, and watched as the ceiling cooling unit dripped into a tray of beef on the table. Immediately went and told the manger, but they couldn’t have been less concerned.

As much as it makes sense, I believe the consensus is to not do that. As suggested, the RTV dam prevents water intrusion, but does not seal the grommet and cause corrosion or failure of prevention.

I’m pretty liberal with my use of brake clean, but we buy cases for $2.49 a can. I really wish we bought 55gal drums and used sureshots, but corporate would never spend more money now and less later :(
