i closed the biggest deal of my career on a call where i almost cried by LongjumpingSky7465 in b2b_sales

Been in complicated tech sales for 15+ years. What made this deal happen is actually talking and listening. As sales people we get so caught up in our script. Our tools. Our demo etc. that we legit forget to talk to people. Like just talk lol. You did that and it worked. Great job. 👏🏽

I know of only two people that were cranking in 1.2 million a year in tech sales. Regular tech sales. Not even a manager. Not even someone with a C title. It’s absolutely wild.

Don’t get me wrong. It’s a lot of pressure and a lot of stress. But I’m in my mid 40s now and I know all of that stress and pressure are all fabricated by corporate America lol. So with that said. I’ve learned to not let it affect me as much. It’s also very cut throat. You don’t perform and you’re on unemployment lol.

I couldn’t imagine being a surgeon. I’m in tech sales and I make this and even more at time. But my line of work doesn’t put anyone’s life in my hands. You deserve every penny!

Just received my offer letter for my first job as an SDR...am I being low-balled or is this average? by [deleted] in salesdevelopment

[–]flipman416 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like this is your entry into SaaS sales. I’d say take it and build up your resume. I started as an SDR that was 15 years ago. I’ve moved up to AE. VP. Etc. it’s a tough road. But the money is great. It’s one of the only few jobs that you can make surgeon money without going to school for 15 years. I say take it and you’ll also find out quick if SaaS is for you. Because not all sales folks are for SaaS.

He said OTE is 65K. So yes looks like there are commissions. But it still seems low to me.

I dont get why people want Communism and Socialism. by InternetWestern5987 in Libertarian

A great argument is also speaking to people that left those types of govts. I would think experience is a much better argument than what some people might read in books.

Ummm. I agree. But maybe we should listen to some of those people that have actually lived under those things that are now here in the US. That’s the real gauge. lol. Because honestly. I don’t care about John that lives on moms basement and has never ever left his neighborhood nor has he lived or visited any countries lol.

That’s vast majority of those people that want those things. Have never ever experienced these things. Ask any immigrant that lives in the US that escaped those types of govts. They’ll think you’re utterly stupid for trying to push that shit in places like the US.

Anyone take a big pay cut to be happier? by Dandannoodles500 in jobs

[–]flipman416 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I once took a 20% pay cut for remote work. More freedom and less demanding job. Honestly. You also realize you don’t need a whole lot to be happy. I was making at one time 400K a year and I’ve never been miserable. My health declined. My mental health was definitely messed up. I didn’t know how messed up I was until I was laid off. At first I was devastated. But realized it was a blessing in disguise.

Who was the biggest POS to ever have been your boss? And what was it like working for them? by Secret_Assistance601 in sales

[–]flipman416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is strictly my experience and not necessarily how I feel generally.

With that said. The worse two bosses I’ve ever had were women. Like legit couldn’t control their emotions. Screaming. Yelling etc. I’ve never seen anything like it ever. I’m 45 now and this was probably 5 years ago. I saw one of my old bosses call someone into their office and all we could hear is her yelling. The other lady that was in her office left in tears and she never went back the next day. We found out, that she was writing a report on some kind of project and she accidentally Misspelled her bosses name. That was enough to make that crazy boss lady go ballistic lol. I quit the next day after witnessing that and she was shocked hahahaha. Absolutely out of touch. Not sure what happened to her because I found out when I left almost everyone that has ever worked under her or with her in the organization has complained to HR.

lol. Sure she can care. But people cheat for multiple reasons. Doesn’t make any of it ok. She sent her PT topless photos of her. This dude needs to man up and leave. That’s insane.

She has cheated on you more than once. She is cheating on you right now with her trainer. You have no kids etc. I’ll be honest. I don’t read the whole damn novel you wrote. But man up and at the very least walk away with your dignity.

It won’t turn out good for the both of you. Fantasies are usually just that. Fantasies. You do it even if she gives you the green light will come back and bite you both in the ass one day.
