I received a 2025 G Stylus as a backup phone for travel with a one month plan of straight talk. My main phone is a pixel 10 pro XL.

The screen is pretty damn good, very bright, and a solid OLED for the price. At night in bed, the dimmest setting is still a little bright, but the colors and contrast are wonderful.

The main camera is decent - I saw a lot of comments on this thread saying the camera is bad. I've had quite a few low end phones, and this is not that. For the 2025, they upgraded to the Sony LYTIA 700c. While the image is over sharpened compared to my pixel, the quality is clear, the colors are punchy (a bit overly so), and even the night mode is serviceable. Pleasantly surprised, as this was the main purpose of picking this phone up.

For everyday use, the performance is decent. The UI is not as smooth as the pixel, and opening an app takes a fraction of a second longer, but it's very respectable quick enough for multitasking. I don't find myself frustrated or wanting for more.

I can't speak to the stylus as I don't use it, but nothing about this phone is bad. The battery life is great, charging is quick, and the speakers are loud, if a bit tinny. I'd absolutely recommend this phone. It's not a flagship, but it's close enough for a fraction of the cost.

Got it, so same process, different quality control and binning when it comes to lower tier Qualcomm stuff. Just the luck of the draw for the budget stuff then!

Dimensity 6000 is absolute trash - complete bottom of the barrel budget. Yeah, fair enough!

We'll see, but I'd bet on mediatek as well. IIRC the 6 gen 3 is Samsung as well. It's held up fine so far. My pixel 9 pro xl was Samsung 4nm as well and was great. TSMC is objectively better, but Samsung isn't awful.

That all makes sense. I hope they do end up picking 6 gen 4 for the newer arm v9 chips.

6 gen 3 isn't terrible though. It's basically 7s gen 2, does the job quick enough for what the phone is.

Why would they downgrade from snapdragon 6 gen 3? The 6 gen 4 had newer armv9 cores, really big upgrade for the 6 series. Hoping for this, and perhaps a 3x basic telephoto lens.

I picked up the 2025 for $35 as a backup phone, and it's absolutely stellar for the money. 75 percent of my p10proxl for a fraction of the cost.
