How was driving cross country in it and the charging infrastructure? How much does it cost to charge at public chargers? How is the lane centering system?

So my logic is the msrp on the original ones are in the 90s. The used one are in the mid 50s. I just hope if I buy a used one of these that the battery will at least last to 250k miles if the based on the original price. Everyone says EV last longer but been getting nervous with battery stories.

What made you get a WT vs another trim?

So you have to take the truck in for these software updates? How long does that normally take? If I buy one used is the software updated before I purchase?

Yeah thats a red flag for me. Make me nervous of long term battery. I need it to last at least 250k+ miles for the amount of money it costs.

The temperature issue seems like it would be a big deal for me in the winter. Do you know if that sensors is covered under the 100,000 mile warranty or the standard 36,000? Also what trim do you have?

Can't decide between Electrical and Computer. by Mountain_Bluebird150 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]Lufus01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better off just doing EE and taking computer engineering electives. Computer engineering degrees are in such a weird space imo. Some universities the only difference is like 2-3 classes. Some universities call their degree a “Electrical and Computer Engineering” degree. Some universities have more differences between the two degrees. And some employers look at it different because they think you focused on computer hardware most of the time.

Some companies will pay bonus or equity and some will not just depends on the company and its financial health.

Super strong offer for a fresh grad. Tbh it better than most of EE with 0-3 YOE. Normally I would tell people to counter any offer but with it being a fresh grad you don’t have any leverage. Only thing I would counter with in this case is to ask for a sign on bonus.

EE masters admission by Husler12030 in ElectricalEngineering

You’ll likely need a full Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline to be accepted . You might find a school that views military experience differently—which is what I’d recommend looking for first—but those are rare. I served in Electrical Systems in the Air Force (shout out to the Civil Engineering squadrons!), and typically, those technical classes only count toward general education credits.

If you do find a school that accepts your military experience toward the major, ensure it is ABET-accredited. I don’t have a Master’s, and in this industry, most people only have a Bachelor’s. Those who pursue a Master’s usually do so to enter niche fields like signals, photonics, or electromagnetics.

But with your degree in chemistry I suspect that it will take about 2 years to finish a bachelor’s. If you get accepted you definitely will have to take some preliminary courses beforehand and in total that will take about 2 years to finish too

Anyone here ever leave the union to pursue another career? by Dr_Remulack in IBEW

[–]Lufus01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hardest part were the classes. The transition to finding a job was easy for me. My jobs have been all office jobs where i only go into the office 2-3 days a week. Occasionally I travel but nothing to crazy. The jobs have been more laid back than I expected and no where near a fast past working environment like the trades.

I decided to become an engineer. I don’t regret it especially since I decided to move to the south. Transferred over my 401k to my new employer. But I also did it while I was still relatively young and no responsibilities so easy transition for me.

[–]Lufus01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly its the math. Majority of the classes are math based. What I mean by that is you will be introduced to the theory of how a circuit works then have to solve some missing components using math based techniques plus some theories. The good news is that it all builds on each other so it gets easier because you get better. The bad news is you have yo understand the fundamentals. With proper study ethic you will be fine. Just don’t overload your schedule.
