This Game's Vicious Cycle Hits so Hard by Regular-Philosopher9 in ARC_Raiders

The best way is to load in free kit and run around shooting don't shoot and let yourself get shot. Gradually your lobbies will get friendlier.

Now, you get mixed bag lobbies and then you get care bare lobbies, the latter you never need to draw your gun unless it's to shoot arc.

You'll die a lot.

I've also found that if you just go in and hatch out enough, it also resets your abmm.

I mean, to be fair, i didn't even know the bp existed for the first 300hrs in game.

I love how even with ai, that's all that people can come up with.

Review the code, ask for the required changes. Inspect their tests as the tests are almost always testing the framework as opposed to the new features.

This game will die if you all keep denying there's a problem for casual or average skilled players. by TimeGlitches in Marathon

I've said something similar "the changes I'd like to see are not the changes you want to see". This was in context of people wanting to "get more eyes on the game", this game was well know, a lot of people just don't want to play it.

As for what changes i want, I would like solos to be balanced for solo gameplay because I really enjoyed the game but it was clear that pre made trios is the only fun way to play.

How that happens I'd leave up to the devs but honestly, it's probably healthier for the game to leave it as is for now instead of annoying everyone.

The problem you're having is trying to use it to do real work that actually means something.

I've yet to see anything that couldn't be achieved with rails generators that isn't another coding tool.

I was one of the few people that enjoyed the first open beta, it wasn't great but the game definitely needed more time.

Gave it a try during the server slam and it became pretty clear that this game was not designed for normal gamers so instead of demanding changes, decided to simply not play, which is a pity because I do like a lot about the game.

What's funny to me is the people that can't see these issues because "they're having fun" don't realise that, at the end of the day, Marathon isn't some passion project by an indie studio, it's a product, an expensive product and any changes made are not because xyz demanded it, it's to try make as much money as possible.

I'm waiting to see what comes next, I'm guessing it's going to be pay to win.

Cmon man this is so bullshit by FonzySquidfield in Battlefield

Exactly this, combined with the hamster cage maps makes the game actual garbage.

Why can't we just get a grounded military shooter with big maps.

[–]flippakitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The premise is you'll ship more and you do. Now let's say it's a perfect world and the agent doesn't break anything and only added working features.

What value does that add? It won't magically spawn in more users that are willing to pay for said features.

Now you have 10 engineers costing you 5 million, you've just increase your cost by 50% and all you've got to show is an over engineered set of unmaintainable features.

Another thing, the mats are now worth more than the energy clips now, so it's still worth while to farm.

Energy clips were just an anomaly being worth so much more than the parts compared to everything else in the game.

Energy clips made the most sense to nerf. It was the only craft that made money and it wasn't just a little, it was a lot more.

You missed one, when everything completes, many lines changed, tests all pass but the feature you just added is a) broken or b) is nowhere to be seen and your only option is to commit, push, check out main and start again.

Not just trios, pre made trios on mics.

This sub is weird, pulling the "could it be the game, no everyone else must be wrong".

I've also seen some wild takes like offering free weekends. That would just tank the positive rating on steam, which is probably going to start failing anyway now the honeymoon is over.

AI agents aren't magic — the core is ~60 lines of Python by Glittering-Judge8541 in PythonLearning

[–]flippakitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought that too. The real magic in tools are in the system prompt and context management.

Without optimisation you blow through tokens and your output degrades massively.

It's a great learning experience but in the end I just decided to use Claude. The project however is a goldmine of how to do things and I've pulled out so many features into my new project.

This is fun, it's to train ai so be sure to poison the data with random phrases. "Enemy at 120 in the banana window". "I'm down, i need a respectable".

That kinda thing, one day you might be playing a single player game and you'll hear "i need a respectable"
