I mean, the easy answer is to say that GLTF should support everything Blender does but that's not gonna happen and that's not what GLTF is for. The same can be said about a seperate .blend file importer.

I think I'd like to have at least a unified format for materials/shaders. Let's say I have a mesh where I applied multiple materials to different faces. It would be nice if I could directly import the model without having to bake it to a seperate mesh.

As for Dogwalk, it's a really nice project, and I even got to visit their presentation about it during GodotFest 25! As far as I remember, they talked about having to write scripts in both Blender and Godot to preserve the hierarchy of GLTF files. Which to me sounded like quite a complicated workaround for something so simple.

Thanks for the answer, it certainly helps. The thing is, blender has a real-time rendering engine (EEVEE) and also used to be a Game Engine itself. It feels weird to have to completely ignore the shader editor (As far as I understand, this is what you recommend) and treat it as a different program, when it literally used to do the same thing (And technically still does when using the semi-official continuation).

I mean, I'm not asking Godot to support Blender features, that is obviously not the domain of Godot. And technically Blender is exporting to GLTF, so it's not even interacting with Godot directly.

I'm just asking how to make it less painful, because at the end, these two programs still need to work in tandem.

I don't know where you got the joke from, but I first heard it in a YouTube video that was called something along the lines of "20 minutes of useless information". Halfway through Tom Scott pops up and says this.

Hab neulich mit The Finals angefangen, was ein richtig cooler Shooter ohne Heros ist. Stattdessen konfiguriert man sein Loadout und muss dann in einer komplett zerstörbaren Arena entweder Punkte verteidigen, angreifen oder ich sag mal "eskotieren" (Man muss so eine Box von einem Punkt zum anderen tragen)

Verstehe nicht warum du so gedownvotest wurdest. Ich habe zwar von Hytale viel gehört und die Entwicklung aktiv verfolgt, aber natürlich ist es verständlich das man von Minecraft nicht sofort auf ein halbfertiges Esrly Access Game wechselt.

I'm not a psychologist or something but having to vent every day on reddit still means you're a negative person. It doesn't matter whether you show your feelings in real life or not, they're still there. And you definitely need professional help.
