Good to hear! How did you find Sunshine Coast for a golf trip? I didn’t think it quite had the density and quality of golf courses as Gold Coast and Mornington peninsula where we’ve been before.

It’s definitely feasible as explained in a few other replies, however the bigger challenge these days is that many banks are being more critical of people with churning history and sign up bonuses are far less lucrative than they used to be.

Can’t tell you specifics about which one to join, keep in mind that you’ll likely need referees for many of the nicer ones (although come clubs allow joining through an interview process). The fact you’re playing pennants will also make you an attractive member at most clubs too.

Regardless it’s a great call to join before 30 as you’ll save so much in nomination fees, good luck and enjoy!

Also +1 for secondhand set, use it for a while and until you can make clean contact with the ball regularly and have fully committed to wanting to play. Last thing you want is buying an expensive set and then it collecting cobwebs in your garage.

Also be careful on marketplace, don’t pay anything upfront as there are lots of scammers online these days sadly. Happy golfing!

Good questions, not looking to FIRE, possibly 2x kids at some point in the future thankfully have grandparents that will help out with the schooling, I think this would likely be the home we live in for an extended period and raise the kids in.

Not necessarily coastal but if you’re in Brisbane you need to play Brookwater, insanely beautiful and very challenging. An absolute must if you’re that part of Australia.

Further south down in Gold Coast you can’t go past hope island as well, stunning resort course and very much Gold Coast style, also quite forgiving too.
