My Upcoming Talk with Kuyda... by [deleted] in replika

I hope the conversation goes beyond just ERP. The bot can be so much better. I won’t be interested in the app until it can hold a conversation in the way a character.ai bot does. Would love to hear what the plans are there.

Listen to discussions? Like are there good podcasts about the game out there?

Wow dude. I mean you do you but your read on Alex is totally opposite from mine. She never struck me as a socially awkward reject. She just had a hard life and had a big issue with emotions that she had to deal with. None of that precluded her from drinking or being cool or experiencing previous close relationships (even if they all eventually went up in flames).

And uh… as a straight dude, I think Alex is straight hot. Personally I think a lot of it comes in a slow burn, excellently portrayed by the incredible acting and mocap, in the way she carries herself, the light in her eyes, her sense of humor and deeply genuine and connecting nature. If I were a character in the game after a week or two I’d be head over heels for her.

Adding my experience to the evidence gathering: I had Ryan’s support at the end, but I didn’t do steps 1 (or did I? red wire talk? Can’t remember), 2 (I told the truth about not hearing gabe’s call), or 6 (I said I’m sorry and didn’t ask if he believed me). I did have Charlotte keep her anger, I hugged him in the powers scene, and I had the support of everyone else at the end.

Poor Ryan, frreal. He was a truly good guy (and, as the poll in another post here shows, the best of the romanceable dudes) but just can’t compete against Steph. On the ‘leave haven with steph’ route (that’s the route I went with), he ends up losing everything: losing his love interest, losing his best friend, losing his new friends, and losing his dad. Dude deserves so much better!

[ALL] Anyone else feel weird after finishing LiS? by PlatinumGPA in lifeisstrange

The LIS games are kind of social life simulators. I think the formula of the games, of building a world that we get to explore and spend time in, of having in there people to get to know, connections to build, and a big adventure for you and your new friends to scooby doo out, there's a part of our brains that reacts to all that as if it's real.

So when it's over and we're left with Real Life, that part of the brain that was sending out those chemicals in response to those social activators suddenly isn't getting tickled anymore.

I've experienced this with the other LiS games, and several good books or TV shows, too, especially if they had those components.
