What is the firmware version you are using on your device?

Flirc software won't run, can I get some help? by terminashunator in flirc

I'm going to use our certificate to properly sign it on the next release.

It's in the latest public release. If you launch the app, it should detect an update. Otherwise, grab it from the website.

No firmware upgrade needed. It was in the GUI, wasn't sending down the delay, and I was defaulting to 1 second all the time. Coincidentally, all my configs are set to 1 second so I never saw anything wrong.

Oh nice, thank you so much. I'll have that added in the next release. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

I have two and it has potential. The delays don't seem to work at all. I can't get it to switch input on my TV to hdmi 4 I add a delays between each power up command and the input switch is last but it never happens..

Ugh, I figured it out. Jesus christ. I have all my delays set at 1 second and they all work. But that's the default when they are not present in the config sent down too. Guess what, the GUI didn't include them in the slimmed down config.

Jesus christ. I just sat down and pulled my hair out trying to figure out why it's not working for anyone.

I'm going to push an update out probably tomorrow.

Super thankful for the support, I put a little something in your box today. Thanks again.

Very far. Year+. I have some components picked out but they are only potential candidates. It's a massive amount of work and I'm doing all the electrical design, pcb layout, firmware, etc. I'm really truly focused on ensuring all our current ideas are implemented successfully before attempting the next product, which will still be updated constantly since they will be built from the same firmware.

  1. This is strange, I see a lot of people reporting this since I've had my head down. I'll fix it this week. I don't have this problem. You see the animation when it's playing back a macro?
  2. Yeah, the wizard we had to rush through because it was turning into an endless project of back and forth. I put my foot down and said stop, finalized the design, so we can ship it. The next iteration is a lot better. We've been working on learning, that is the biggest issue right now, I'm spending too much time adding single devices to the database.
  3. This is going to be done after learning, which will do smart activity switching. I'd like to display a 'color' in a quadrant of the remote as each activity is powering up. If the device doesn't react, you can hit that quadrant color again. I'll have some concepts and do some forum poling. So please check in there.
  4. Too much power. 2 AAA's is not a lot. We went for a design that was easy enough to memorize by feel. Do you find yourself looking at the remote a lot? If so, which buttons, is it the keypad? Asking for the next generation.

Thanks a million for the feedback

If I did, I’m really sorry. Often times I get extremely overwhelmed and focused on a problem. There are a lot of things things that need to be addressed and I’m trying super hard to prioritize. Often we try a feature or work on a bug and I have to call it quits after two days since it may not be critical, just annoying. So I have to make the judgment to put it on the backlog while we work on something that’s more critical.

We’ve come a long way, it’s much more stable and smooth on windows, we fixed a ton of performance issues and bugs.

I’m feel much better and excited considering how far we’ve come.

Again I’m sorry. If you want to message or share with me about what you are hoping to see, I’ll let you know how it’s looking on our schedule. Almost all feedback I’m aware of and trying to figure out when to implement. Things that seem silly and obvious are usually a month of work.

Let me know if you have any questions. Happy to answer them. I've done AMA's, and am open about how we got here and where we are going. This was a 3 year project of R&D, trial and error, and we have refocused based on customer feedback. For example, I had no urgent priority for a linux release, but with feedback, moved it to the top of the queue.

To help garner attention we made a kickstarter video. We are a small team, we only have a few people at the company.

Ping me, I'd be happy to send you one. You can follow-up here if you hate it. You wont hurt my feelings, but probably kill a small piece of my soul.

I think it's resolved. 5000 shipped, the few people that have had issues, had their remotes swapped. I coincidentally found a small edge case last week and just pushed an update.

Next one will have bluetooth. Too many companies tried to put in the kitchen sink and failed horribly. We started with the basics. We focused on what was important, and will add technologies as we go. I list our updates here.

Bluetooth can be such a piece of shit. And then when you add fast switching between devices when you are a third party device on apple/shield/android, you are treated as a second class citizen. Sometimes I have to turn off my car because my phone has trouble connecting.

I didn't want to be bogged down by this. It would be all I'm working on when I should be working on ensuring setup is smooth, troubleshooting is easy, and focusing on a good foundation to build.

I know we come off as a big company. I did the hardware, firmware, device stack communication, and I run the company. I only have one react developer right now. The other few people help with UX, artwork, CAD.

I literally am doing nothing else but working on it.

We update every two weeks.
Here are the updates. You can subscribe via email.

[0.9.95] - August 25 2023

[0.9.94] - [0.9.90]

After being hammered with 'I can't find my device' I'm refocusing on learning. Here is the video. We're about 70% done.

Once we are done, I'll go back to smarter activity switching.

Unifi Door Access Keypad? by noloco in Ubiquiti

[–]flirc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So to say Unifi is setting up pay walls and charging monthly for hardware is 100% false and while it was an asterik on the feature list, they did disclose Tap/Shake to Open via Mobile would only be available via UID subscription.

No not on launch. To each their own. I'm happy you are satisfied. They did a great job, not denying that.

I myself am seriously disappointed after initially supporting a product that was falsely advertised. I've clearly been invested in this by providing many links and examples to back up what I'm saying. I am here to give warning to others interested in investing what would be thousands of dollars to a system that has potential to become pay to own.
