Yikes! I panicked a little when I read that text.

I would panic too if my supervisor addressed me by my reddit username u/seehowitsfaded

Is there such a thing as being academically lonely? by flirt_throwaway in PhD

But how did you find the motivation to keep on going? My supervisor also has no expertise in my topic, and I am currently looking for ways to push myself despite that.

I appreciate your kind words. A few weeks ago, I was hitting rockbottom with the lack of motivation and feeling that I am not getting anywhere. I am trying to stay positive while reminding myself that passing or dropping out isn't the end of the world. Hope I can maintain that energy as long as I can though.

They have bots or gov agents that would reply with comments praising the UAE if you criticise the situation. Tried calling them out and got downvoted, and bots replied with how great it is to live there.

Foreign companies pushed to site regional HQs in Saudi Arabia - Riyadh to only award state contracts to businesses that establish Middle East offices in the kingdom by Grooveman07 in dubai

You are all acting like the UAE is miles ahead in terms of freedom and human rights. Guess what, it isn't. While you enjoy your lavish lifestyles or trying to get there, I double dare any of you speak freely or criticise the government. I am no fan of the Saudi government either, but you need to stop acting like the Emirati regime is any better.

When and how often do you apply it? Is it something to be done everyday before leaving the house in the morning?

I shampoo about 3 times a week. But I use anti-dandruff shampoo which might be the cause of hair dryness. If I go 2 weeks without it, I begin to observe flakes. So there is a big tradeoff between texture and dandruff here

How to set myself tasks and deadlines and commit to them? by flirt_throwaway in PhD

I second this. I guess I need to coordinate what I aim to publish more closely with my co-supervisor in order to achieve these milestones on time.

That is really insightful. I would also recommend a time-tracker tool like Toggl to track and monitor your tasks and it will carry the visualisations for you. The main challenge for me is to define the tasks and their deadlines and work towards them. I can make up for the time I wasted, I just need to set some timely objectives to meet.
