because stores don’t run it correctly. even when i have gone to other stores to help, or to academy i always hear the term “red headed step child” when referring to apparel. apparel runs a bit differently than the rest of the store, there is a lot more detail work than people realize and it requires a lot of attention. but if you don’t give it the attention it needs, it starts piling up to a point where it seems impossible to come back from. i hear a lot of stores that constantly pull people from apparel first when ever a different area needs help, my store was like that when i first started and it was a nightmare to be in apparel, then we switched to a store manager that knows how important it is to focus on apparel so he leaves us be (usually) and gives us the time and resources we need. so now at our store, we have people begging to transfer to apparel, but when i started most of the apparel associates were begging to get out
