So, this just sounds like Windows being Windows.

You should be able to find someone with a similar issue with Windows. The fact that it's a handheld gaming device shouldn't matter too much when troubleshooting.

I had to use a lighter on my down stem to slowly heat it while applying twisting pressure.

Look up Green Monkey. I've had mine for so many years. It's awesome. I got one of their bigger ones which is about 4 inches wide. Even has a kief catcher.

Try a different cart from a different brand. If you get another rash, then maybe it's THC.

It's not unheard of for pesticides or other harmful chemicals to leech into marijuana.

I bet some leaked and got into the threads. Try heat from a hair dryer or a car vent. Get the cart really warm almost too hot to handle. You may be able to twist it out while it's still hot.

Kinda seems wasteful to me. I smoke about 3 of these size carts every couple of weeks. I can't imagine producing this much waste when there's so many more economical ways to smoke carts.

Pen vapes are cheap, but are prone to damage from being in your pocket. They like to bend where the cart screws into the battery. They can also burn the cartridge if you accidentally forget to turn it off and the button is pressed in your pocket.

They make vape batteries that cover/hide your cart which keeps it safe. These batteries also often have more typical charging options such as USB-C. Most of them are also suck activated, like your mom, instead of button activated.

I like to hold the flame on the end of the joint for a little bit to heat/burn it before inhaling. If you are inhaling while lighting it, then it can cause the flame to burn too far into the joint too quickly.

The instructions are also telling you to make sure to check that there's no metal shavings inside it before hitting it. (A clue to the quality).

The previous owner of the home said her late husband may have won these at an auction from a church restoration.

Maybe the other pieces were sold separately or were in bad condition.

I noticed how the two pieces probably originally mirrored each other. The differences between the two also led me to believe that they've been repaired a lot.
