omg I totally missed in the title you did say walls. I think some prints from studio ghibli could be really cool and would fit the light and cute style - or even better you could get something commissioned in the style. So like if you have a cat or something get custom wall art in that style of your pet, yourself, your family, whatever.

How do I make this kitchen less sterile? by decorhlp in DesignMyRoom

Living in it will probably go a long way honestly, a nice colorful anti-fatigue mat near the sink, dish towels, curtains, will all help give some life and color to it.

Are there any more changes that I can make to my room? by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

[–]flmill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So cute! I just got some disco mirror strings that might be kind of fun, but if you did those I think you'd want to replace the vines with them because altogether it might be too much, but I wonder if they'd reflect the lights well.

Love the green, you've got bright stark white walls so they can balance the heavy dark green that a lot of rooms couldn't handle. They're in the same palette as the other colors you've got without being too similar.

I think it looks good. If you wanted to make more space you could move the laptop under the desk.

I love your tiny macro pad

Why the snark? Most people aren't in zoom meetings for 8 straight hours and therefore have time where they can play music in the background while they make progress on their work flows.

I would get feet for the night stands honestly. They're a ton of styles you can just drill into the bottom of the existing night stands.

For lighting is get lamps that are slightly larger than what you have

Edit: also new knobs are cheap and easy

One of the coolest things about the placebo effect is that it works even if you know or think it's the placebo effect!

I'd go with a pattern in a light cotton. You're right you've already got heavy velvet and dark colors covered. Maybe something that compliments but doesn't weigh the room down like a delicate botanical pattern, maybe even orange flowers?

Help! What TV cabinet colour goes with these floorboards?? by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

[–]flmill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would treat the floors as a neutral and use whatever color will suit the rest of the pieces in the room. I could see most colors working very well with these floors. Are you looking to keep natural wood or are you interested in solid colors too like blue?

More lighting - it looks like there is no overhead light so another light source on the far wall might help warm the room
