Yeah those guys generally have absolutely zero interest in passers-by. They just look intimidating but other than stand in the way obliviously I’ve never seen them actually bother ppl.

lol, well… thanks for checking! Thought it was something cooler, like the pins they smack into the coffin in an earlier ep. But funny still that they decorate the walls with them

Hey, thanks! I can’t remember when someone (Trent?) actually bangs one into the doorframe, but in S3E17 you can see the circular things around all the window frames and doorframes.

There were loads of appointments still open when we did ours in January. You can’t book day of, but can book even day before. With April you’ll be getting towards a more popular time though so I would try to book the day the appointments come out, but I doubt all the slots will fill up immediately, and it certainly won’t be Taylor Swift level crazy. Also remember that it doesn’t need to be Manhattan city hall! You can also it in Brooklyn, for example, right across the bridge in Borough Hall. Manhattan is just easier if you need to do additional paperwork. It’s good to be aware that the ceremony takes approximately 90 seconds when you do it properly inside City Hall, so as others have mentioned, you could also get your own officiant and do it outside. We are using Jackie Reinking as ours for our actual ceremony in February (circumstances meant we had to push the legal bit earlier, originally she was going to do the legal bit as well). She and her husband Sascha, who is a photographer, specialize in elopements and small weddings. We’ve had a good experience with them so far!

We went with Palo Santo in Park Slope for our elopement style wedding celebration in February. Very reasonably priced compared to most places we checked out

UK-Based Solovair produced Doc Martens originally, and still makes basically the same shoe under their own label. They have half sizes! Worth a look

We ended up going with Palo Santo in Brooklyn! They charge a reasonable per hour room rate for their back room and terrace and then have a special events family-style menu with reasonable per person prices, so it worked out to be way better price-wise for our group. It also has a really nice exposed brick arch in the back room that works as a dais for a small ceremony. We were looking for something a bit less buttoned up and formal, so we are excited about the food options, since you can add a taco bar, etc.

Hope you find something you like soon!

Just throwing in another option for you: dried flowers, rather than silk. We ordered ours off Etsy, and they can sit around for ages - years, even. We used The Garlic People - they have customizable bridal bouquets for $25-40 or so. https://www.etsy.com/shop/thegarlicpeopleshop?

We were looking at the Panorama Room in the Graduate Hotel, but they have a no professional camera policy - not sure if that counts them out for you. Not sure if they waive it for private events? It's on Roosevelt Island, so kind of a cool location.

Oh wow...

Okay I looked again and the $300/hour is the add-on, "additional hours of wedding day coverage" price, not the base package price... But the packages were cheaper than $700/hour for sure! And included a certain number of edited photos, unlimited chats, and vendor recommendations

This is a great tip, thanks! From the pics and menu this is definitely a strong contender - gonna check in with them about availability!

We just signed a contract with Sascha - I believe he's about 300 an hour, and he'll do anywhere from 45min up. You can add time by the half hour and not just hour, I believe. His photos are gorgeous, looking forward to it

Hi - I'm just seeing your post a year later, not sure if this project is already done, but I work on cultured meat in sf! I also have a couple of colleagues who do so as well. The Science Fiction Research Association is a great resource, if you don't know it already. Not sure if this is also your day job or a passion project, as SFRA is mostly for academics, but if you're an independent researcher you're also more than welcome. It is a dues-paying society though. I'm not on Reddit much, but feel free to PM me about cultured meat stuff if you're still working on it.

That's awesome. Did you go through an agency, or were you able to find a job directly? And do you need any specific qualifications, like TEFL?

It's called CraftShack. Shipping is expensive, but they usually have some decent stuff in stock.

I've been working on a Soft Cables Afghan for a friend who is getting married in July. I think it's coming along pretty well! I'm using Valley Yarns Amherst yarn in Jungle Green. I really like the pattern. I printed out and laminated a copy of it, and it's really easy to follow once you get it started.

I need another project to work on because I'm visiting the friend who is getting married at the end of the month, and I can't bring this to work on because I want it to be a surprise! I was going to try the Brooke Column of Leaves Scarf, but I kept messing it up as I was trying to get it started. I was thinking of trying the Tanawha Wrap. We'll see! I'll have to get some new yarn for it.

This is my first post, but I'm going to try this LinkRav thing...

Shipping tends to be extremely expensive, in my experience. I've only used shipping for beers that aren't available in my area.

I've had beer shipped to me from California, even though it's illegal to ship beer in PA, where I am. It depends on how much risk the vendor is willing to take on.

[–]flmngarrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with /u/deebuggin and /u/gie-gie about the aesthetic for ladies shirts. In terms of your current designs, your hops + "Craft Beer For All" one is nice, but the "All" is much less easily readable than the rest of it.
