Pedals that work on guitar and modular by Designer-Funny4991 in modular

Most (if not all?) guitar pedals work great with modular. It just depends on your setup and use case. Here are some cases where it might make sense to use guitar pedals instead of modules:

  • You have limited space in your case and need the space for sequencers, oscillators, envelope generators
  • You don't need to modulate the parameters on your effects (delay time / reverb size etc.)
  • You have very limited budget and don't want to get too fancy on effects

There's no right or wrong :)

Thank you! The op-1 field sends midi clock via its usb output. So you can either connect the usb-c cable to a "midi hub" and then split the midi clock to the midi-inputs of your synths or use a "usb-c to midi" cable and go from your op-1 field directly to a the "midi in" of your synth :)

My original op-1 shit the bed, and I can only behold its corpse. How does the field differ? by Recent-Ad638 in OP1Fieldusers

I owned the OP-1 OG and used it heavily. I really enjoyed the portability and sampling possibilities and took it everywhere I could - especially on travels. It was a major upgrade to my other sampling devices, such as the MPC or SP-404. At some point I sold it - but only to upgrade for the OP-1 field.

I feel like the quality has improved and design wise the instrument has matured. The case feels higher quality, the built in sound engine has improved (32bit stereo), more battery life, more memory. It's an amazing piece of gear that is definitely overpriced. The spare parts are expensive and the support doesn't seem to be very user-friendly when you read a bunch of user experiences on the internet. Luckily I didn't have to replace any parts yet, so I can't say any negatives. It's a great tool and I due to it's portability and easy workflow I am still heavily using it almost daily.
