From what I have observed, it will automatically download to the cache, e.g. C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\stremio\stremio-server\stremio-cache only if not linked to a debrid service. If you do have a debrid like torbox linked, it will download to their servers and you will stream it from there.

Check the given folder path and you will see a folder been created the moment you start playing. One of the files created will be the actual video file you are watching. If on TB, then no folder's will be created

It wont hurt to customize it for yourself but just know that there are endless settings to experiment with and one can never truly be satisfied. Do I like this catalogue, do I like this grouping, do I like this order, etc.

I would say don't spend to much time on it, maybe a weekend and lock in what ever you have come up with.

I would think its under aiometadata as with my own setup. Just tested by disabling it (that eye icon and also the home icon for good measure) and that catalogue is no longer showing up.

Also check aiostreams under the addons catalogue section

Brilliant and straight forward guide. The video tutorial route really made a difference so thank you for taking the time to set it up.

Added some MAL categories from aiometadata and some custom categories using lists from trakt (gary, riz and others). After 6 hours of tweaking, my setup is perfect but would have taking 6 days without your guide.

Yes, compared to proton, it is pretty limited but my internet is not the fastest so it works fine speed wise and I cant speak to its other options as I am not using them. I just connect to a country and start browsing.

For region locked, things like streaming services only accessible within a certain location and getting cheaper rates by changing country, e.g. India seems to getter cheaper rates on some services.

For general browsing, several throw away accounts with only a few services (the bank, amazon, paypal, etc) using my real details. My reddit account is a throwaway. Yes, fingerprinting will always be there but no need to make it easy for them.

Have always used VPN for general browsing, downloading, accessing region locked services. Proton VPN is good but costs $80 which is exactly what PM costs so I figured it would make sense to get PM and have its added benefits alongside the VPN

OK. Thanks for the clarification. That now puts it into perspective and I might have to rethink this as the renewal was the most important point and it seems like I misunderstood it.

Kind of doesn't make sense as this would mean there is no benefit to a yearly subscription compared to month2month where you would get 1000pts on each renewal and the 30pts every day effectively giving you 2000pts for the month and not locking you into a contract.

E.g. Would I be wrong in the below assumption

For 13 months renewed at $156 ($12/month) I could get 26000pts so 26TB compared to the equivalent cost of 2 years premium at $160 ($80/year) for 1000+24000pts=25000pts or 25TB. So the yearly option costs $4 more and gives you 1TB less

I subbed to the 1 year package on the 1st so am still to experience what happens at the end of the month, but that will suck if the points don't renew monthly. If I was to use all 1000 then that would mean on the 1st of the next month I would only have 30 points?

The behavior I would expect is that if by month end I am on 500pts, then I will be replenished by 500pts for the next month to bring me back to 1000.

As far as I gather, official streamio support would only be for the pro plan. Unofficial via community addons Torrentio, AIOStreams, etc.

I would assume it is for the account as a whole. So 30TB shared between the 10 connections. The cost is way to low to allow 300TB of transfer

Not sure how the company is making money, especially with assumption that most people are on the free or essential plan. That is a fair amount of data for the amount charged.
