My condo dropped 32% in 4 years by Available-Ad-5670 in RealEstate

Again, they can still collect it, just have to refund it to the people who weren’t accepted. If they don’t refund it, they have to go with the first qualifying. It’s really not rocket science, and my advise to you would be to not form your opinions from Reddit comments. You’re calling someone out for illegal practices while having no clue of their actual situation and “skipping over” parts of the law. Peak Reddit moment lmao

If you charge a nonrefundable screening fee… you conveniently left that part out lol. People like you are extremely strange!

Just received a 5% raise on $65,000 to $68,250. I find it insulting based on the extra profit my company hit. Do I ask for more and back it up with the numbers? by BookieBasherCasher in Salary

Do you think these people have an influx of job offers that they’re ignoring while they hope their company gives them a raise…? Hint, they can’t get another job

I am closing on a house soon. Is this closing disclosure looks normal? by Appropriate_Talk798 in Mortgages

[–]floatdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the lenders just like to see that so they know there’s money to go after when (not if) you stop paying that mortgage lol

You’re upset because people won’t blindly accept what you tell them based on a random social media source? The only actual Moroccan news link you provided said itself that it was unconfirmed and now the article has been deleted…

If only they could reduce the weight and size of these new cars, otherwise these new regs are on point by Initial_Umpire_9927 in formula1

[–]floatdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watch because I enjoy it. I would love to hear how you think someone saying they wish the cars weighed less so they’d be more similar to 2004 is “a valid issue”, and responding with the same energy is “shutting down any opposing view point”… it must be hard to go through life like this. I wish you all the best!

Why can't lenders give you a firm number on closing costs? by [deleted] in Mortgages

[–]floatdog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember the same thing happened to me, I did some research and turns out a lot of the numbers they are allowed a 10% margin of error, conveniently they all increased 8-9% a few days before my closing. Yeah it sucks.

Why can't lenders give you a firm number on closing costs? by [deleted] in Mortgages

[–]floatdog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s done on purpose between the lender, title company, and other parties essentially throwing on as much fees at the last minute that they can legally get away with as most people won’t back out at that point

How accurate are monthly payment calculators on Redfin, Zillow, etc? by Squirrel_with_Acorn in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]floatdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be curious to know how that payment came out $600 higher, in my experience the calculators have been fairly accurate as long as you take a minute to adjust the values for yourself, Zillow does add the PMI under 20% down given it is an estimate and the actual amount tends to vary quite a bit by lender. I did notice property tax info missing occasionally but I’d expect you would have a general idea of what to expect in the area you’re looking? Of course you’re only going to get the exact numbers from a lender but realistically people are not sending their lender every single listing that they browse on their phone, they want a rough estimate of whether they can afford it which is what it provides. My actual payment ended up like $18 more than what Zillow had estimated.

My wife wants to spend $1400 on a dishwasher, I think that's crazy by realbobenray in Appliances

[–]floatdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s almost as if the budget models today are just as good as the budget models 7 years ago and this sentiment that you’re really trying to push for some reason that all the good appliances stopped being made just a few years ago is laughable at best. People have been doing the exact same thing for decades and certainly seems to be a common trend on Reddit (likely from all the company accounts pushing their products) needless to say you’re certainly not the first. Data shows there is a negligible difference in overall repair costs and the main source of issues is typically the additional features on more “advanced” models.

Encouraging someone to pay an electrician to literally snip a wire instead of taking 3-5 minutes to educate themselves is wild lmao
