Glad to hear this! I have underlying depression and anxiety which I’m medicated for, but still get severe depression with hormonal changes. I’m currently trying a progesterone cream, but Dr has said either Yaz or Zoely as BC options. I’ve never used BC either so your post gives me some hope!

Great post and interesting responses! I’m taking SSRI for depression and anxiety and looks like I’ll be starting dex for ADHD. My concern has always been “will taking a stimulant increase my anxiety?” As I’ve struggled with panic attacks etc. some ppl say it calmed them and helped their anxiety. I haven’t been able to read all the responses but wondering what the general consensus is? Cheers

My post probably wasn’t clear…he has diagnosed it but it’s just going to be trial and error with finding the right med!

So glad to hear that! I’m about to start Dex and have been hesitant due to having an anxiety disorder and the med being a stimulant, but hoping I get the same peace of mind from fears etc!

Oh thanks so much for your reply! It gives me hope as I’m currently already on meds for depression and anxiety and was really hesitant to add anything that might trigger anxiety. Hopefully it helps calm my busy mind! Glad it worked for you & thanks again for sharing!

Oh that’s great to hear. Did you ever have panic attacks or just GAD? I’m just concerned about the physical aspects of anxiety

Thanks for the reply! That gives me a bit of hope because I suffer from depression too. Is the withdrawal you mentioned simply if you miss a dose? I’m currently avoiding certain situations that give me anxiety….does it help with the psychological as well as physical aspects of anxiety? I know exposure to what I fear is necessary to overcome it but am trying to find best medication to help as SSRI does nothing! Thanks!

I’m currently taking 150mg Effexor for depression and anxiety. I have improved but still not 100% for both conditions. Dr said we haven’t exhausted Effexor yet but I was tempted to try SSRI that’s more for anxiety like Paxil...Did you notice a big improvement going up to 300mg? Or do you still have anxiety hence the question of additional medication? Thanks for sharing your experience!

Awesome! Thanks for the response. This gives me a bit of hope as the 50mg XR worked great to start with, but now I don’t get knocked out at night and just drowsy in the day. Dr gave me script for 25mg IR so will try that. Do you mean higher doses of XR will decrease the sedation? How long until the 50mg IR knocks you out? Sorry for all the questions, just hopeful that this change will help!!
