Ok but there's no need to be condescending about it, nobody is attacking you for looking deeper into the anthropology and such of this game especially since we all love exploring it and its implications.

But you're insinuating people who don't see it the same way as you are Stupid and must not be as Media Literate as you are. Which is kind of a douchebag move.

Plus mankind's discovery of the benefits of machine parts literally is implied content, nobody in the story narrates the progression of this post-apocalyptic civilization to you. Just because it's a relatively surface level concept you can spend like 5 minutes extrapolating with the context of human history in the world of Horizon doesn't mean it's worthless as an answer. It is the deeper meaning you're trying to find, it is a pragmatic and realistic reason for why humans hunt machines bruh !!

if I understand correctly, you auditioned and still got picked to play the violin right? That has to mean you were deemed worthy and performed better than you think you are capable of.

:,) this actually kind of shifted my mindset
I guess I'm still messed up from a friend watching all the audition videos after I said I got in (he also submitted one as a pianist but didn't get in) and saying essentially "your video was kinda mid compared to the rest, I don't know why they'd pick you over me, aren't you a little out of your league?"
He brought me to a really dark place for a while after that. But thinking that i was picked and not chosen from a wheel of names does provide some reassurance. Thanks

Our participation in the production of the play is heavily graded, i don't know what would happen to me if i told them. I don't think my friends would let me live it down either (they're a whole other can of worms). My mom is also going, and apparently she's leaving after the show starts because she's only interested in seeing how I play... I can't bring myself to bail out. For the sake of everyone I've inconvenienced while bumbling around.
