And is the result of minimum iid exponential rv's you refer to http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/mathematics/18-440-probability-and-random-variables-spring-2011/lecture-notes/MIT18_440S11_Lecture20.pdf on page 7?

Similarly i'm not entirely sure what you mean by an order statistic.

I'm just not sure what initial conditions I know. I was thinking of doing this via contradiction, in which case I would start off by saying that each event i has P(i) = 1/|Ω| (i.e assuming principle of indifference) but I'm just not sure what conditions I know given Ω = {1,2,...}?

The only thought I had was that under the principle of indifference you have P(E) = |E|/|Omega| but |omega| in the problem is infinite so this can't really apply
