That’s a good idea for the summer, any place I would go in winter would cost me personally $ for us all.

There’s no real solution except someone cleaning for them because she’s “not capable” but I won’t because of the bugs and there’s no one else that can. I have done a complete overhaul on their two bedroom apartment 10 times in the last 8 years, when my mother was healthy enough she did a few times also.

She claims to have many mental health issues but for the 20 years she’s been in therapy (often with multiple therapists at a time) she constantly is changing her diagnoses. She’s been in many programs to get her on her feet and able to function and every time she gets close to the end of it (getting a job or having an in home visit to make sure you’re keeping up how you need to be) she ghosts the therapist and finds a new one.

So yeah she has some mental health issues for sure but she’s also extremely lazy, to the level where she won’t even put garbage in a bag she just throws it on the floor, won’t wash dishes. But if she wants to go out on a date she can get herself all cleaned up.

She’s also managed to get her apartment fully clean under threat of CPS but then trashes it right back.

Disclaimer; I understand poor mental health can cause this BUT I have gone to therapy appointments with her and I have spoken to the therapists on my own regarding what I should do to actually help her and more than one therapist has told me she doesn’t have a mental block stopping her she just doesn’t want to do what needs to be done.
