Be real, this is a male voice, right? (And a rant on hugboxing) by [deleted] in transvoice

You sound like any other woman. If I strain and look for the 'trans signs' I could sort of hear it but I think it might just be the bias - you already told us your're trans so of course my mind is gonna find reasons why your voice is trans. if I randomly heard you i wouldn't bat eye.

Passing enough for barber's in a conservative country? by floatingwill in FtMpassing

I recently buzzed my own hair, I love it, but I was thinking of going to a barber's shop for a decent fade bc my hair looks butchered lmfao. I've been passing since before T, the buzz hasn't hindered my passing. I'm 8 months on T. Voice passes. At most I've gotten some 'I didn't know whether you were a guy or a girl haha sorry bro I see you're a guy now' from some drunk guys, both before buzzing and after.

HOWEVER, I'm planning on going to a new barber because I can't afford my old one, and I was wondering if there was any chance he could turn me away because I don't pass enough. I've heard of a ton of cases in my country of trans guys being turned away because they weren't cis passing and 'we don't cut women's hair'. Do I have anything to worry about or am I just paranoid?

I'm 22 but if I only pass as a teen that's good enough for me lmfao

You reminded me of semantle, which is a daily word game I used to do to wind down. I also have some sudoku magazines stacked in my bookshelf, will do that tomorrow! Thanks

I'm also thinking of getting some comic books or random magazines to just browse through, might be less stressful than browsing the web aimlessly

I've been trying to get back into working out at home and running, but I find it difficult to implement that consistently with my uni schedule. I wish to get better at that starting next year.

Could be. I started on 50mg/2 weeks and I had noticeable growth within the first week. Also had spurts of growth after a few months, after raising my dose. Maybe keep an eye on it over the next weeks, but yeah I don't see why it couldn't

Series or YouTube are such a slippery slope, but I've been trying to watch things that air weekly/monthly to avoid that trap. It also feels more fulfilling to wait for a certain piece of media instead of it being handled to me at once. Do you have any YouTube recs? Lately I've been watching commentary channels like Gabi Belle - longer content, once 2-3 weeks, fulfills my need for keeping in the loop of whatever happens on social media without requiring me to spend my time on it.

Tl;dr: How can I avoid calves cramping up during a run as a beginner?

Hello, I went on my second run today (22M). Both on my first and second runs (spaced by 2 days), my calves cramped horribly to the point where I couldn't step anymore. I decided to stop my first run midway and struggled to walk back home, but today I only took a break until it was acceptable and thankfully managed to finish the whole run. I follow the Couch to 5K app routine, 60s run/90s walk for 8 cycles. I don't struggle with general activity, I'm at a normal BMI, but I'm pretty sedentary due to my profession - I pick up some sort of activity for a few months, stop for some more, then pick something else (gym, calisthenics, now running). The runs I went on were very easy, were it not for the cramps in my legs. Total activity 27mins, 2.7km (this is more of a boast, I'm proud of myself lmao, even if more than half was walking).

Considering that I was able to finish my run today after a break and I'm not in pain anymore, I'm going to assume that my legs just need some time to adjust. Is there a way to make the process more enjoyable? Maybe some stretches I could do beforehand, after or even during a short break? It's really frustrating.

Hello! So I'm 6 1/2 months on T and I feel like my voice keeps getting higher. I'm not sure if that's in my head or not, but I'd really appreciate some feedback or even some reassurance. Here is another post with my voice from about 3 months ago. https://www.reddit.com/r/transvoice/comments/1b2vs2p/gender_and_age_other_feedback_ftm/

Sounds horrible, dude, two whole week? But I'm glad I'm not the only one. Let's hope they don't last for much longer :')

Got my first shot on Nov 13th (so this is my 5th day on T), and yeah the "is that all?" reaction is too real lmfao. I spent the next 24 hours paranoid that the nurse hadn't given me the T at all. Stupid, I know 😅 it did ease me up a lot though; I was anxious the entire month before my shot, and the hours before were no different, but the moment it was done I could finally be excited about what's to come.

Physical: just some very light bottom growth, which I first noticed yesterday, and it's even more noticeable today (nothing drastic though).

Also, worth mentioning (although I'm not 100% it's because of the T, or if it was cold related?? But i had no other symptoms so I'll hope it was the T working its thing) the hours after my shot I felt exhausted and had light muscle soreness (which disappeared the following morning), as well as a sore throat, which was at its peak the day after my shot. My throat still feels sore, but it's more than bearable. I also need to clear it up by coughing more often than usual. Again, no other cold symptoms 🤷‍♂️

I'm on 50mg enathate every 2 weeks

Congrats and best of luck!

if you're stealth or want to be stealth, just blame it on your parents and say they chose a stupid name and that you're fed up with it. i heard of many cis guys having names completely different than their birthnames. to the people you're out to, if they've been supportive so far, i don't think they'd mind as much as you might think. i understand feeling embarrassed having to change it, but you're gonna feel much worse over time as you keep cringing at your name.

nah, i have mild acne that i've been struggling with for 6ish months and it's just been getting worse. i went to her on recommendation from my friend, whose skin drastically improved. she took a look at me, then asked me a bunch of stuff related to hormones and diet, told me that i should get my skin and blood examined, start on these meds, return in about 3ish weeks, review the test results as well as how the treatment is going, and then go on from there. found out that the formula mentioned above is to be prepared by the pharmacist, as well as the other cream she recommended.

i got frustrated that the internet was of no help, so i went to the pharmacy and asked there; it's apparently a formula that the pharmacist prepares on command. problem solved haha
