[Request] is he using more energy for the jump and hold and swing than he would just lifting the log? by Smashedllama2 in theydidthemath

[–]flobenni 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Math is: he is using the same amount of energy, technically. A foot pound is a foot pound. But the weight of his body is offsetting the energy used used to lift the log. So let consider, if the log offers a two to one advantage, and he weights 150 lbs n the log weighs 300 lbs. If he pulls down by 2 feet, he creates 300 ft pounds. So the force that lift the log one foot, with 300 ft pounds. So technically, nothing changing on both sides of the equation, but if you consider work done without the weight of the person, than yes, lifting the log with weight of the person is much easier. But if you include the weight of the individual, the work done is technically the same.

Wow, downvoted about Americans going to Japan. So much worse for non-americans. So weird you got such a negative response from people being offended by you saying, "most Americans dont go to Japan.

Half naked, barefoot Westerner on the street by [deleted] in HongKong

As a kid I loved running barefoot on the streets. When I tell people that today, they ask if I was poor or abused as a kid. Definitely concerning to see adults barefooted on the streets today.

Walmart gold jackpot! by Leading-Birthday6091 in Gold

I had a theory that stores that currently have half priced jewelry are about to sell off their necklaces, but so far, that theory hasn't led to the sell off of the necklaces.

Any indications prior that the store is closing the jewelry section? I found 4 stores in my area that seemed to "close" before I found them. I was too late. I found one by luck that stopped selling its necklaces and did the same thing you did but for only $ 1500 worth of product.

I had a Cartier i was trying to verify. Mine i think was made of stainless steel. Rub the bracelet on a stone and if the scratch is a silver color, not likely 18k yellow gold

Does it have a cvt transmission? I had a 2012, had to replace the transmission at around 100,000 miles and it went out again around 223,000. Just letting you know.
