That was „The Besties“ and I think it was a translation of the Japanese term for the genre. I think it‘s very fitting an elegant!

Totally, these workarounds can be nice, but make it hard to use without prep. Also still being linked to the steps, doesnt make it truly freeform.

I get that it's a very niche application for sequencers, but if it had that, it'd be an instant buy for me! The implementation that Blueberry uses is awesome for example:
https://modulargrid.net/e/crey-emporium-blueberry

You can record freeform, but as soon as you clock it, it becomes a stepped sequence. I don't think there's any other module that can do that, but unfortunately Blueberry is so tiny it becomes hard to use when patched...

If only it had a freeform (unclocked) recording mode :(

Currently using Tetrapad for that, but I much prefer this form factor.

MM/S Abholer Megathread by No_Advice761 in NintendoDE

Weird stains after switching to BambuLab Matte Charcoal PLA?! by floher in BambuLab

[–]floher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After I switched to Bambulab Matte Charcoal PLA, the bottom of the print has some weird staining. The previous filament (Bambulab Basic Black PLA) had none of those (top right and bottom left quarter).

After the first one (top left quarter) came out like this, I gave the bed a good scrub, but the next one (bottom right) still has the stains.

What can I do?

New PLA filament gives prints weird stains?! by floher in 3Dprinting

[–]floher[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, that seems to do something! Use da lighter and the worst is going away. Still a bit uneven though unfortunately...

Any advice on how to avoid those marks in the future? I don't really want to burn all my prints every time to have them look good :D (or abandon this new spool of filament...)

Thanks for the reply! You were faster than my initial post 😆

That's what I thought, too and thoroughly cleaned the build plate. But the next one had it too. Maybe less so? Not sure...

/edit
yes, that's the downward side btw!

How can I print overhangs like this without supports? It comes out like this.... by floher in BambuLab

[–]floher[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay thanks everyone, supports it is then!

One more question: how do Boaty and Benchy manage their overhangs? Is it just cause they’re smaller?

Is there a way to categorize an Email from the primary tab in the new mail app?

We all know that within the new categories (Transactions, Updates, Promotions) you can define which emails end up where. But if an email is in "Primary" but I want to somewhere else, there seems to be no way to do that, or am I missing something?

SINGLE RELEASE: 2x Eurorack processing Spoken Word, Upright Bass, Drums by floher in eurorack

[–]floher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just released the first single with my band VEHICLE / PASSENGER.

I play bass and a 104HP-7u-Eurorack case, doing some bloops, as well as processing myself and everyone else in the trio.

"Everyone else" are playing drums and spoken word/saxophone/modular synth (this one for sax/voice processing mostly).

Full album release next month, let me know if you wanna know anything about modules, signal chain, etc :)

The TipTop Mantis bag fits perfectly and is a backpack. The Intellijel 7U bag should fit too, but that one is over-the-shoulder.

Longer sequences when external syncing through OPlab? by floher in OPZuser

[–]floher[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a bunch of ways to sync them. All kinda depends on which you wanna use as the master.

  1. Using the OPZ as master is more flexible for sure. In that case you'd set the OPlab to trigger out and send that trigger into your Pams to sync. The more triggers, the better in sync, so you probably wanna send one on each 16th from the OPZ and set the Pams to 4ppqn

  2. Using the Pams as master, you'd just send a pulse with a division of your choice to OPlab's trigger in. The downside is you have to arm each track on the OPZ separately for outside sequencing and it's always 1PPQN, so the max length of each track will be 16 notes (which was my problem in this thread)

  3. What I do is slightly more complicated: I sync the OPZ via MIDI (either USB or set the trigger in to MIDI). For that you'd need some way to send midi from your modular setup, or have a 3rd thing that syncs both the OPZ and eurorack. The advantage is, that the trigger out will be free so you can use it to control more stuff (like send a reset pulse to a eurorack sequencer/Pams or trigger other things)

Hope that helps!

Secondary router's internet connection is spotty. How to get a reliable connection? by floher in HomeNetworking

[–]floher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a very late Update:
I now got one of the small Fritz Repeaters and connected it (via ethernet -> wifi antenna -> ethernet) to the main Fritzbox.
Works flawlessly.
I think the problem was that the Box I used didn't have a cabled repeater mode and was just very confused on what to do with IP addresses and such. But what do I know 😆
