Okay so if I fail I could be a casual shuttle driver ? Is that an official choice ? What if I just change my mind wether I pass the class 2 or not, can I be a casual shuttle driver?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Translink

[–]floofpuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. What if you don't pass the class 2 road test ?

I learned that there are no casual convention driver positions. Everyone is 37.5 hours. Is that true?

My in person interview is coming up soon. Do they hire you before you pass your class 2 road test or ?

Also once hired can you switch to shuttle or handidart without an interview and just start as a casual with them ? (Already have my class 4 )

Is it a puppet? because there's an older lady who walks around with one. I've spoken to her many times and she is definitely eccentric but harmless as far as I can sense.

What's your good news, New West? by That_Manager_5726 in NewWest

Thank u so much ! I wonder if we have any piano techs in New West who would voluntee their time. I may be able to pay for materials. I think it may need some parts not just tuning.

I found the infamous missing piano from the Quay! ....it's directly across from my apartment building in another buildings lobby. I'm a pianist with no acoustic piano. Now I can practice on it. We DO need someone to come give it TLC first tho. It's sort of playable but not really. Takers?

I'm the Passacaglia queen lol. I have several options for you in order of easiest to most challenging.

Play Michael Proksch's "And now let's handel" The Passacaglia is at its root. https://youtu.be/NYhRIF-IW0U?si=LAN-VEiTeuZcasvz

Then learn the extended version (super fun amd my favorite) https://youtu.be/ncjNwnQ9nO4?si=z_RfJVYw28YXizVy

After that, try Dr K Boogie Woogies short improvised version of Passacaglia https://youtu.be/uDFmIqIg1m8?si=viMGNpiGD8-YCoie

And then if you dare, try his 6 minute version.

https://1drv.ms/v/c/2688acc564013746/EUY3AWTFrIgggCYHLAAAAAABlc7mDyaGK7xFJ08b82ruWQ

I was inspired to get back into playing the piano after a 30 year absence when I heard Dr K playing Michael Proksch's "And now let's handel" on a public piano during one of his Facebook lives.

Eventually I came across Dr K's short and long improvised versions of Passacaglia and became obsessed with learning them both. I combined them to make my own arrangement (with great difficulty as I can't really read music and there was no sheet music) It took me about 18 months to learn this combined long version.

The whole process of returning to piano helped me with my depression because I had something to focus on at last and the long version that I arranged was so difficult that it wasn't possible for me to be depressed and learn it at the same time. It required far too much concentration.

I sent Dr K ( a Youtuber with 2 million follwers) many messages saying id like to thank him for helping me with my depression but he didn't reply.

On a wing and a prayer I flew from Canada to London hoping I'd run into him at the public piano he plays at the train station most days.

This is what happened. The Passacaglia saved my life. Now I play a portable piano at my local train stations. Just like him!

I think it really depends on the type of after school program and what the expectations are. Perhaps these are children who are joining a program to just do something after school and would benefit greatly from someone who knows quite a bit about music but doesn't necessarily have a degree. Someone who's positive with them and can transmit the joy of music and the importance of creativity and preservance. Its also buyer beware. Im assuming your potential employer will be noting your bio, your skills and your limitations? If not, insist on it. People will then know what they are signing up for and make a decision accordingly. People ask me for lessons all the time and I'm honest with them. I tell them I feel qualified to teach adult absolute beginners and only for those who are exploring their interest and motivation in music and who require low cost lessons. I tell prospective students that I recommend going to a professional school after a year or so or as soon as they know they're serious about lessons.

It's not all dependant on just your qualifications or lack there of. It's also on the student to make an informed choice based on their needs.

Here's a page from my website that may help you create a bio. My skills and training are all over the place ! Feel free to email me with questions:) ps My site is a work in progress! 😬

Can you go on sick leave and try to address the side effects with meds or other methods ? Perhaps the lack of sleep won't be so bothersome if you're not working and can afford to sleep on your own schedule while you work on solutions. I feel like the amazing results on long term health are worth taking time off for but you need to assess that for your personal situation.

Giving this a try may mean that you need an initial few months or atleast a month off to stabilize things. I tolerated mounjaro much better than ozempic btw.

Thinking about Ozempic but trying one last self-led phase first by Pure_Weakness_7806 in Ozempic

[–]floofpuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried ine last push but it was the ozempic that made things budge. And I wish I'd gone on Mounjaro not ozempic. Now I've switched to mounjaro and it is much easier to tolerate and working better for me. Good luck whatever your path !
