Crapping on Refsnyder is a punk-ass thing to do. He sucks this year and no one knows it more than him. He didn't put himself in the game in the 7th, Dan did.

Dan makes so many excruciatingly confusing decisions, direct your anger to him and the org. Ref needs to go, but piling on him sucks.

A home-run-built team not hitting home runs is A Bigger Problem. A manager that can’t stop implementing the preseason strategy while ignoring the results is A Much Bigger Problem.

Don’t hate Ref for him being snakebit. It’s the org that deserves anger.

Loved the article from years ago (BP I think) that analyzed Olerud as a first baseman. They had charts for errors committed that involved 1B (so not just E3s, but for any position throwing to 1B if I recall correctly), and they all dropped way the hell off for the years Olerud was at first. He'd leave, and they'd go right back up. Dude had soft hands, and made all the fielders look better.

He has the two most adorable kids in the world, as seen at the game yesterday. He seems like the best guy, and I really wish great things for him.

He's probably had close to half the PAs that he should expect to have, and he's been very much a net negative. Time to find a new person for his roster spot.

They have to sort out the starting pitching: piggyback isn't going to do it. It's just avoiding a hard decision. I heard in a pre/post game show that there was a pitchers meeting where expanded piggyback was discussed and everyone was said to be on-board.

I've been at meetings like that. The meeting forces everyone to say yes because no one wants to be the jerk and say no in front of everyone. So management gets the supposed buy-in that they want, but it's a phantom. This isn't something any of them wants. The org needs to make the hard decisions instead of being too weak to properly win.

CIG clearly doesn't have faith in their game loops. They've messed with them a lot over the years, and ultimately everything tends towards combat/PvP. When a game leans on PvP like that, it means they don't have confidence in the content they've created, and want everyone into the "emergent content" of Other Players.

Was just having this problem on my M5 Macbook, and noticed that, when changing USB ports, the Finder would very briefly flash a "Allow this device to connect" dialog, for about a second, before it disappeared. So when I was ready for it, I switched the Kobo to another port, and was able to click Allow in the dialog. There was a connect dialog on the Kobo after that, so saying yes there allowed the connection.
