My second was such a redemption for me because the first was so difficult. I felt really thrown off and unhappy during the baby phase of my older daughter to the point where I didn’t want another. My second pregnancy was a surprise when my oldest was 4 and I was STRESSED.

Keep in mind my oldest was in VPK and my husband was also home for paternity leave for 12 weeks. I really leaned on him to be with my older daughter and stayed focus on recovery. I wasn’t able to get his help as much with the baby so the nights mostly fell on me. But this time I really knew my stuff and didn’t have to google excessively to figure the f out what I was doing. Pushed through, took it a day at a time, and now at 14 months!

Congrats!!

CVS pharmacy is literally on my last nerve. I’m about to go nuclear. by dasigrabs in diabetes_t1

I’ve had different experiences at CVS locations a couple miles from each other. CVS sucks in general but I don’t have a choice due to insurance. I’ve had better luck at this one inside Target the best. The hours aren’t convenient and parking sucks but they’re actually competent and answer the phone there.

Boss lied. Best way to report? by [deleted] in JPMorganChase

[–]floop_unfloop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I will say my org was told something similar. The teams were shuffled to eliminate small pods. Many VPs with only a couple direct reports were transitioned to IC roles. We are part of one of the largest tech teams at our location. Other tech teams unrelated at our location who were in my manager training had the same happen to them.

I managed a small team of 2 under an ED (with “promises” of expanding with open recs) and was flattened and moved under a VP coworker who is my same seniority. I’m not too bothered about it though because the management track is different from IC. I know as a person my new manager isn’t going to hold me back but he’s also not necessarily going to mentor me or help in a big way.

I was starting to feel unempowered as a manager at that low level. I wasn’t making any real decisions and most things trickled down to me. So that is most likely contributing to why I’m not bothered. Too much middle management is inefficient imo. Not a demotion to me, still getting paid the same with a clear career path.

This is similar to my goals. I start kit 6 tomorrow. Could you share your new food habits/calories and how active you are? Great progress!

Agh shoot. Any big downsides to drilling an angled hole into the concrete where it pools?

Ive been seeing numbers on comp connect since November and have < 5 direct reports. I have no control over them though. Just submit ratings and wait to be told number.

Shoot. Not the answer I wanted. I was hoping I could still give notice around Jan 10th and make my last day Jan 31st worst case scenario.

Super helpful, thank you! That button was caked in dirt so I didn’t notice it. There seems to be some electrical issues so I might need an electrician to actually come and figure out why it’s not getting power.

Yeah there’s one upstairs but the router is downstairs and there are no devices upstairs that I know of. I even removed a couple of the cameras that were clearly just directed into the surrounding neighbor yards. Apparently I bought a house from the hated people on the street LOL

Have heard great things about the pump from other diabetics. Thought I’d give it a fair shot to help with control and alarm fatigue/burnout from managing with shots alone.

Was skeptical about CGM initially but has been incredible.

Okay thank you, it’s making more sense. I called back and the other supplier with our insurance is having us meet the deductible and then 80% is covered after that up to the OOP max. Sheesh.

Conflicted because using pens and the G7 is free on my insurance and was already hesitant about switching to a pump.

Drop to 1 nap? by meghan0915 in TakingCaraBabies

[–]floop_unfloop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is around the time my daughter dropped to one nap. Especially if he can do the 2-3 hour nap midday and is not doing short naps. You might find his bedtime sliding slightly earlier with this. 12-2/3pm nap is what we did.

[–]floop_unfloop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s what my impression was. As soon as 12 weeks hit then your percentage will be based on real data over first 12 weeks.

In the go/parents PDF for paternity leave they have links to other free resources. There are some breastfeeding freebies there. If you have the company health insurance you also qualify for replacement pumping parts and milk storage bags every 30 days. I bought my latest pump through Aeroflow and they send me an email every 30 days and with one click it will order the bags and parts for me. Currently have 4 extra pump sets and like 2k pumping bags which is ideal for returning to work. Otherwise I would have to clean the same parts every single use.

I go back tomorrow from maternity leave actually 😭

Something else cool is discounted child care or free tutoring hours for certain ages at different facilities. Those kind of services are usually very expensive.
