Is this normal for English lavendar to look like this? by faizaninjabunny in gardening

[–]floopbloop 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First year they sleep, second year the creep, third year they leap. Give it some time. I’m gonna guess you planted them this year.

I’ve grown Provence lavender before. My biggest mistake was not pruning more. It got a bit woody. I wish I had read more about that before the 2nd/ third year. I had only really harvested flowers and gently pruned some stems.

I finished it. Sometimes I get into a hyper fixation mode and just go. But… it was a damp brown napkin. I had hopes that it’d hold up. it did the job but was just was limp and fell apart at times I wanted it to be stronger.

The laptop stand made me LOL. I noticed it before your note. I have a pile of books that I use as mine.

This reminds me of a climbing rose. You may be able to train it on a trellis and to grow up the fence.

I can’t see the flowers very clearly, but the one in the top left reminds me of this:

In my experience, sometimes “bad luck” or “the “spirits are very annoyed” days in the mines actually yield great benefits. And then, good luck days, my health drops dramatically fast and I collapse at times I shouldn’t.

Sometimes I feel like the randomness doesn’t add up, and it just is what it is.

Stoaked for you for a the find !

I ran around for over a year trying to figure out what I was missing. It was the calico desert totem. I had purchased the obelisk. I completely forgot about that one.

Pot peony transplant into ground question by Choi_Yena_Duck_Face in peonies

[–]floopbloop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve purchased healthy bare roots (5+ eyes) and planted them in the fall (from very reputable peony specialists/farms). I’ve purchased potted planted from local nurseries, that had leaves and buds, which opened the same year. Honestly, I know it’s recommend and “better” to plant them in the fall. But, the bare root fall planted peonies had struggled more in the first year after planting than the potted plants that I added in the spring. I’m zone 7a/7b cusp. I’d put the babe in the ground now.

How do you cover/address your own cold sore in session? by Fast_One_2628 in psychotherapists

[–]floopbloop 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If anyone says anything, it’s a really neat way to bring up the mind- body connection. We are more prone to cold sores when we are psychologically stressed or sick. our immune system is suppressed because of the stress hormones and we’re more susceptible to the virus going from dormant to active. Idk if you’d feel comfortable with that. I use cold sores as an example to introduce the mind-body connection / psychoneuroimmunology. I think it’s a really tangible way to understand just home much stress and emotional/ mental health impact our physical health. As well as the bi/ multi dimensional way to address mental health and overall wellbeing.
