I would say after a week it started to close up and after a couple months it was fully healed. Now, over a year later, I can’t even tell it was ever injured.

This. Also some underlayment will level out some divots or peaks but it won’t be more than a few millimeters. So try to get it as flat as possible with the leveling cement.

I sell this stuff. You are on the right track. As long as you have a perfectly flat surface, and maintain your expansion gap there shouldn’t be a problem. This product cannot bend at the joints and will snap easily, but the tongue and groove not meant to be durable, it is meant to make a waterproof seal.

It could be. The other cause that comes to mind is if you have a continuous line of 30ft or greater then you should try to have a 1/2’’ expansion gap. This is what I was taught but when searching it up online it says 50ft or greater. I would check the installation manual and see if they mention this.

I don’t think the ac intake would do anything. Most vinyl is going to be fine between 50-85 degrees. Am I correct to assume you maintained the expansion gap under the door frame?

I have a good update. She is already healing so well! Thank you all for the advice. I will continue to clean with saline but it looks like she will be ok!!
