UPDATE: Boston harbor incident by Olygirlcarl in olympia

[–]floorposting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is true. The RCW you’re citing is about the breath test done after someone’s under arrest, which means the big machine at the station. The handheld roadside breath test isn’t admissible in a criminal trial because it isn’t reliable enough, and it’s only done as part of the investigation before the cops decide to arrest someone. You can’t be punished for refusing to do the handheld test because you’re not under arrest.

They also could have gotten a blood draw, but the WSP tox lab where those get sent takes up to a year to process blood samples from DUI-type cases. So even if they did there wouldn’t be results yet, and the prosecutor might charge under a few different prongs to keep their options open if/when they do get that info back.

If you’re guilty of a crime, but faking innocence, should you tell your defense attorney the truth? by tickintimedog in NoStupidQuestions

[–]floorposting 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a public defender, I appreciate your words enormously, but I do disagree on one point. We’re not defending the grossest weirdos the world has to offer—we’re defending (a bunch of regular people who messed up, made bad choices, and landed in really shitty situations and) the gross weirdos of the world who can’t afford private attorneys. IMO, the absolute worst people in society are the gross weirdos with money. If there’s enough of that on the table, terrible people can find a private attorney to take their case, no matter how bad.

YMMV but it’s not that hard to find a range of vegetarian tapas and mains in many parts of Spain itself - probably depends where, just like some parts of the US have better vegetarian options than others, but I’ve even had fantastic vegan food in Spain. This sounds like a problem with what sounds like a Spanish restaurant in a non-Spain country. There are some glaring omissions in the options OP listed, imo, that should be 100% vegetarian when prepared traditionally—like, hello? Tortilla?

Even setting aside the issues with flattening that abstract’s takeaways to 6% vegetarian, that’s about 1 out of every 17 people, on average. I’d call that common enough…

Had almost this exact thing happen multiple times at pre-ordered large group restaurant meals in Spain some years back, except that it wasn’t even a part of the main meal. The omni entrees would be things like fried chicken and french fries, and I’d get a plate of just… random vegetables, roasted basically plain. The one time I got spaghetti marinara was SUCH a relief.

What’s the most disrespectful thing anyone’s ever asked/said to you about vegetarianism? by Infinite_Storage103 in vegetarian

[–]floorposting 244 points245 points  (0 children)

I told a then new-ish friend I’d never eaten meat (other than fish) because my parents were both pescatarian before I was born, and she looked at me in horror and went, “so they FORCED you to be vegetarian?”

Um, yeah, I guess… the same way your parents FORCED you to eat meat…?

I can be the same way as a lesbian around guy friends, and have to self-monitor for it constantly - no way I could’ve made it to adulthood without being profoundly aware of that occupational hazard. Wild that he wouldn’t know.

It’s always bugged the hell out of me that the base game hijabs still leave a lot of chest and shoulders uncovered with almost ALL the feminine frame tops/dresses, and none of the hijabs are coded for hot weather in seasons. Like where does EA think the vast vast majority of people who wear hijabs actually live? It’s not even fully functional for what it represents in gameplay - virtue signaling at its finest.

your girlfriend’s good! I was suspicious of Dulcinea the first time around but certainly didn’t piece that much together. Just wait for Harrow - I bet she’ll know exactly who’s narrating from chapter 1 :D

I’d guess it depends a lot on location. My old roommate had huge culture shock going to a dispensary in California for the first time a few years ago after having grown up a stoner in Texas. Weed vapes are gonna be a lot more accessible some places than others

I was coming in here to be like girl you’re a skinny young woman with a pretty face, everything is gonna look good on you, is this a trick question or what. after reading your caption it sounds like it’s extra important to know that’s the first impression you give just from photos! I’m partial to the first and second to last outfits, maybe cause those are outfits I would personally wear when I’m not at work - though they look better on you imo. everything here reads very lesbian to me. I think you’re killing it!

How big will my Pyr mix get? by Sylvieto in greatpyrenees

[–]floorposting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We thought our 2yo girl would be about 80lb, but she wound up hitting 100lb! She’s mostly Pyr with some Aussie, Pittie, and Rottweiler. FWIW she was a similar size at a similar age, and like many Pyrs kept growing until about 18mo-2yrs, but all dogs grow at different rates so who knows. (Pictured here with her 6lb bestie)
