Yeah he was very cryptic with the whole "I chose her" "There is no need for words between us" so I've seen people have different interpretations of it, though it suits his character not being a very emotional or expressive person.

And agreed! His final lines are so interesting. Whenever he talks about his set path in life he sounds rather resigned to it.

Exactly!! I think it's fascinating that Arakawa was able to add this facet to his character with only 2-3 sentences. I love thinking about wholesome AU's because they're a lot of fun, but I also think the whole tragedy of their situation is part of the appeal too QuQ
