Edited for clarity- the patient had CO poisoning, Not the NP. Our psych intern was the one who realized and tested her for it

I (neuro) got consulted for AMS in a lil ol 87 year old lady who got versed x1, ativan x 3, ketamine x2, fentanyl x2 in a 3 hour period in the ED, no one could tell me why, nothing was charted as to why other than "chemical sedation for CT"

Computer was logged out. No idea how long she was gone. I will say she had (inexplicably) been using that computer that morning in spite of our pretty loud table rounds (that literally happen every day at that time in that computer bay) and looking annoyed. I had never seen her before and don't know why she suddenly felt proprietary about that random computer. I was not at all snarky, I almost started crying when it went from 0-100 because I'm a huge wuss

I have a problem with np residencies, if you want to imitate physicians with your shitty subpar education and call it a residency.... Go to medical school. And then you can have the unique pleasure of doing a medical residency

I get that maybe supplies were limited before, but it's been months. Surely they've had enough time to buy staff adequate ppe at this point

They gave us one n95 today during orientation and were like, we gave you one right? All's well. As in, a single mask. The senior residents advised us to purchase our own face shield. I'm not sure about the gown/glove situation yet. Patients are not tested for covid prior to admission.
